  • jol faces player revolt

Just the kind of build up I like to a game.

In the sunday mirror via the bbc football gossip section it is reported that jol is facing a backlash for his tactics and also - reading between the lines - for daring to drop players who think they are too big for the club (in fairness, who wouldn't?).

Sounds like we couldn't be playing them at a better time. If only we could play blackburn next week as well.

Bit of useless information - wasn't jol playing for west brom in the fa cup semi final at highbury? Didn't turn up that day either if I remember right...

Looks like Zamora is not playing. Their danger man is Murphy.

Jol played for West Brom and Coventry and was given the runaround by John Gregory and Gary Waddock in the 82 Cup Semi.

Irrespective of the tabloid gossip I see today as a potentially key fixture. A loss for them leaves them pretty mired at the bottom on a long winless run. It would heap pressure on them and cause a lot of questioning about why they are schlepping around Europe in the "Thursday Cup" and apparently jeopradising their league form. We can potentially launch our season and torpedo theirs today.
