I'm actually disappointed in Warnock for saying that. Massively overcritical on this one.

Think this thread title (and interview heading) are unfair, warnock speaks of the traore indicident for 20seconds and concludes his small rant at armand by saying how good a player he is and how much he learns. Quality player, still got a lot to learn about the premiership defensivly but certain runs today and last week remind me off quality times with Kyle Walker.

Branding the lad a disgrace is the part he'll remember, and which many will take note of. Nothing wrong with criticising your players, but that was over the top.

NW's good man manager he'll clear the air with Armand next training session if not before.

Well, when i saw the headline i was a bit like, aw come on, the guy ****ed up once and yeah it was stupid, but he will probably have a word with him in private and sort it out. It wasn't overly critical, and to be fair, if i were him, id rather see my players trying to win back possession with minutes to go being 1-0 down, rather that then someone who's going to stand off....

1 moment where he showed his inexperience, poor lad. Had we lost the game then maybe an angry spur of the moment comment could be understood, but we got something out of the game and, IMO, his tackle wasnt that bad! Maybe still a yellow, but it wasnt high or 2 footed with studs up so I think "disgrace" is way OTT. That 1 of Barton where got kneed in the chest was 10x worse, as was the 1 in the 2nd half when SWP was chopped in half!

Just hope this doesnt affect the lads confidence!

As a previous poster has said though, Im sure NW will be clearing the air with him 1st thing at next training session and building him up again.

Yes his tackle was "silly" and somewhat naive - but then he is just a kid who has played very few games at a high level and will learn from it.
The pen that never was should never had led to a yellow - let's say it was a pen, he doesn't have to book him as well because if it was a foul it was absolute powder puff - the challenge at the end was probs worth a yellow but was never as bad as some of those Matty mentions for which Villa players got a finger wag and no more!

So no, for once I disagree with the Boss - he isn't/wasn't a disgrace, he's a kid who got a bit frustrated and made a silly challenge and he is still 100 times better than any other left back we've had in the hoops in many a year.

Totally agree, this should be done privately.

Look what happened to Connelly's confidence last season after a similar incident. Not saying it caused the lack of confidence, but that it just didn't improve it with public blame.

Traore gets well forward, and has loads of passion, hope the public rebuke doesn't make him think twice about pushing on, and make him too defensive.

Do any of us know the lads character ..... Maybe NW thinks going public is what he needs, remember he has spent years under Wenger management who will never have a go about a player in public and he never progressed as far as he should.

Also if he gets his place back after the Fulham game, NW can use this to put an arm around him and say "look" i have every confidence in you so your going straight back in, go on go out there and show everyone what a great player you are, just think a little bit more.

As this type of public blasting can be used also as a postive man mangament style as well. As mentioned above it all depends on the character.
One for all.... and all for one

Good post mate and youre probs spot on with it there. NW knows bets after all

Agree with Bigears, really. I winced when I heard the interview and it is doesn't matter what else you say if you use the word "disgrace" because that is very strong language. Traore has been one of our best players since the recent influx imho but for all we know he is an arrogant little so and so and thinks he is doing us a bit of a favour by turning out for us - not saying that is the case, I have no idea, but Warno is no fool and will know precisely what he is doing.

i would normally agree with the point , what im worried about is that warnock said it before reflection and was heat of moment , ew all know in them times we say what we shouldnt even if we mean it. would rather he waited an hour or 2 then said

hope you guys are right as dont want this kid playing with those thoughts in the back of his mind, wha worries is i dont think he would have said it about barton

I have to disagree with you there, if Barton done the same thing NW would help he would blast him too as he is the captain. I expect NW and Barton to clash, the differance being is both NW and Barton wouldnt hold grudges and once said it will soon be forgotten.

NW is not sweet violet, like Barton is not either.
