Going on yesterdays performance I would play this team at home -
Kenny
LY DG AF AT
SD AF
SWP AD DJC
HH
I know you will slate me for leaving out Barton, but if we are to be more offensive, Derry and Faurlin are a proven midfield partnership. I would not want to play Faurlin and Barton as we would be too exposed.
Derry is so important and brings the much needed stability into the middle of the park.
Away from home keep things as they are but use HH as the lone striker for a couple of games.
One thing we must get right is the free kicks, we missed so many opportunities to work the keeper yesterday, it was embarrassing.Last edited by Sotonsuperhoop; 26-09-2011, 11:36 AM.22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

It's not yet a case of dropping Bothroyd or changing the game play ,it's a question of changing Bothroyds game He needs to play a more central role in the attack play tighter on the central defenders and stop giving defenders an easy tme in other words get stuck into them

We've just drawn at home to Villa. As a result we have people on here who wants to drop Barton, Derry etc., change a formation which has brought us the success and suits all of our players. Jesus Christ we have some thick fans. God knows what some of you'll come up with after we lose a match

Yes he's missed a few now - but we are talking one chance in a game - the miss against Newcastle has been overplayed as the ball was behind him, not in front so it wasn't the sitter some tell us. The header yesterday probs should have been on target but we have no other player that would have even won that ball.
Some seem to be greatly under estimating the work he does and without it/him we simply wouldn't have enough possession for the star men to do their thing.
Fact is yesterday, SWP had a quiet time, Barton was below par as were Faurlin and Derry - we lost the midfield battle for once and that is because Villa are a very hard working (and farkin dirty) team.
We wasted 5 or 6 truly fantastic dead ball positions and, of course, the ref was wearing a Villa shirt.
On a day where we were below par, against a strong and hardworking team with 12 players, from a goal and a man down, we got a point that will help keep the mood in the camp high.
So go on, start DJC against the Fools (I love him and think there should be a place for him) but to do it in place of Bothroyd would, in my view, ensure that we have no chance of putting the enemy under sufficient pressure to create another Wolves like result.
Finally some sense. Top post!

Alot of our fans really are thickle and jump to conclusions, after a win were the best side in the world and shouldnt be afraid of the top 4 in the PL, then a home draw to Villa and the side needs changing drastically.
We need to take a step back, stop getting carried away and realise we are in our first year in the PL, all we should be realistically aiming for is survival: its September, we have 8 points, we are 9th in the league and have a farking good squad, lets enjoy ourselves eh!You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

The Bothroyd discussion is a repeat of Helguson last season. People on here were moaning about the sitters he missed and that he only scored from penalties. Slowly but surely most were able to see what his allround play did for the team. Bothroyd has done a very good job in the games he has played. Paul Mason can't be watching our games because he has only started 4 matches and made 2 sub apps because of his virus. For his own confidence I agree that he needs a goal soon

Stick with Jay for the next few games I say, of he scores 1 I'd like to think he'll go on a run and score a few, but the danger is the longer the lad goes without a goal the less it looks like he'll score at all.
One definate thing that's got to happen is he needs to play more central, fine him a weeks wages every time he drifts wide!!! He's not henry"The New Era"
Been there, done that, got the Ledesma t-shirt!
