IMO, yes eh could walk into most sides, but not all. For example, Chelski have Cashley, Real have Marcelo & Man Utd have Evra. He wouldnt get into any of these sides. IMO, he should be classed as "top quality" but not quite "world class".You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

He is anything but World Class and i can think of numerous keepers i'd have in front of him. He is just very lucky to play for a great side, and when pressured more a few years ago he was often a bit of a liability. Isn't he 3rd choice for Spain behind Casilles and Reyna......

The bolded comment in your above quote is probs alot to do with this, but he has won the "Zamora Trophy" in Spain (which is the keeper with the lowest goals conceeded per game ratio) for 3 years running now and only conceeded 16 goals last year in the league (half that of Casillas!). But as you say, this is probably alot to do with the team he has in front of him. Dont get to see him too much so I just went by facts, probably are better keepers out there, he just isntantly came to mind when I was thinking on he spot of top keepers. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Messi alone's stats this season: played 8, scored 9, assisted 9.... Directly involved in 18 goals in 8 matchesYou should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

The stats he has in his career so far are mind blowing, and when you consider he's still only about 12 years old it's even more amazing.
Most compare with Maradona for obvious reasons, but he only really blew people away in 86 when he was 25. Yes he was obviously amazing before then, but it was only then that everyone took note and consiered him head and shoulders above anyone else.... Messi was only recently turned 24 and he's been the best for years now..

He is, IMO, incredible and theres no doubt that if he can keep it up for a few more years he will be the best ever.
The whole "delivering for Argentina" arguement is, IMO, total cr4p. As you say, the quality of oppo he faces for Barca in the CL (in which he scored 12 goals in 13 games last year!) is by far above that he faces in the likes of Peru, Paraguay etc in the Copa America games and South America section World Cup qualifiers.
Even saying that, he has scored 17 and assisted 20 in 61 games for Argentina so hardly been **** poor.
Also, George Best hardly delivered on the international stage yet people still insist he is a great.
Messi's Barca stats between the ages of 21 and 24:
Played 167, scored 147 and assisted 62...

He can do everything, and a lot more than some you list. Not sure how you can question Rooney, then ask about Modric. He's not for me. A very good player, yes, but nowhere near World Class. World class players in that sort of position should not only create, but score, and he doesn't get anywhere near enough goals.... think Messi, Fabregas, Scholes, Nedved, Bergkamp, Zidane etc etc

I wouldnt say Modric is, Id say he is a very very good player, but not quite world class IMO.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
