The problem with moderating this board (and it doesn't matter who is or isn't a moderator) is that there is no guarantee that a moderator will be on 24/7. Waterbuffalo got a way with a lot but that is because he posted in the early hours of the morning.

Like i said earlier i was banned within a few seconds of posting so are you telling me that a consensus was reached with all mods in that time or was the button pushed on the whim of one man who cant win any arguments?
the fact is m8 when Pete see's something in a post he doesnt like or doesnt agree with he hits the ban button, most of you Mods do a fantastic job of moderating on here but you are impeded by Pete when he sticks his nose in. And with respect, this sort of statement is exactly why arguments arise and you get to feel as if you are being singled out.

Pete very rarely bans anybody, if you have information to the contrary, then feel free to provide it. It's your opinion, but it is far from being true. He did ban you on this occasion though and as MYU said, for longer than originally intended by mistake, which was rectified.

actually mate the offending post i got banned for was one where i asked why Paladini gave Shittu a contract behind Warnocks back? got an immediate ban with the message BYE...that fair and balanced moderating????? or a case of Pete having a paddy? if you are going to enforce this new policy then you must be fair and balanced in your moderation.. Again, that is not what you were banned for, how many more times must it be stated? I did tell you the reason, although I also told you that I had not seen the actual post as it had been deleted. Furthermore, I also apologised to you in that very same PM, if you had mistakenly been accused of doing something you hadn't.

You are being very reasonable in trying to get the answer you are looking for, but I cannot give the answer you want without making something up as I did not actually see the post. And because of this, I really cannot see any point in attempting to prolong the discussion on that point, because we cannot get any further forward. I'll apologise now for not responding to future questions on that particular point and you can make of that what you will.

Not sure about run-ins as such. We've disagreed, strongly at times, but you have always done so without resorting to calling me names or swearing at me. (At least not in public on this forum).

And was banned on a number of occasions because of it. He also as I said got away with it because a) it wasn't reported and b) wasn't always seen. If people had/have a serious problem then they should report things rather than saying that the mods allow members to get away with something, which isn't the case.

Do members seriously expect that moderators should look through every single thread and every single post? If a member posts early in the morning and other members start new threads which push older threads down the first page they go unnoticed. I and I don't expect any of the mods troll through every thread just in case there is something to be moderated. When it was noted by a mod what waterbuffalo had been posted action took place.

If there is but one woman or one child on this site it should be sufficient to show respect accordingly. This is not just a man's world and, even if it were, it would be wrong to treat others with the distain some show.
Equally, there will always be people who believe they are the subject of a conspiracy, or of bullying or of some other ism. Ironically, it is usually those people who shout loudest about liberalism and political correctness gone mad.
Trust me, I am no Liberal, have strong views on immigration, equal rights and a whole host of topics but this is a football forum where we all have one common core.
Not everyone is as literate or as intelligent as the next person and if we are being honest, as working class football fans, some are wholly uneducated.

None of this should preclude the act of common civility towards each other - consider this:-

“those that demand respect the most deserve it the least.” Truly respectable people are automatically respected, they do not demand it or ask for it there is no need because their very actions command it. The ideal that one can verbally demand respect is only present in those that are truly incapable of being respected in any way shape or form. I once had a man demand respect from me to retort I told him to shut up and show me some respect, to prove a point. As you can imagine neither of us had respect for the other and in a few minutes after our verbal exchange it became physical. Such incidents can be avoided by following the simple statement “responsibility to the responsible.” In the same way, those that are respectable and conduct themselves in a such a manner should be respected. Those that are quite simply disrespectful either to you or themselves should be given zero tolerance. Remove them from your circle as quickly as possible or you will regret it later. I don’t mean hurt the person physically. But let it be known to them they are not welcome. If you think you deserve respect but are given none ask yourself a few key questions: Do I respect myself, do I acknowledge that others are worthy of my respect, What have I done that makes me worthy of respect not in word but deed, Am I truly conducting myself in a respectable manner that others can visibly see and acknowledge?
