I don't think Hall has got the ability to play top flight football. IMO Gabbidon is quite a step up from Hall who was the weak link in the first two games.

      OH DEAR!!!

3 clean sheets in 5 PREMIERSHIP games. Gave Newcastle & Wolves 3 shots between them & you are digging Gabbs out?

      Wow.

More than entitled to your opinion mate but this is total crap.

How many goals did we concede before the 3 new defenders arrived?

To be fair, Gabbidons distribution was very poor vs Newcastle and several times he gave it straight back to them. Solid enough vs Wolves but considering it took them 87 minutes to have a shot on target we were never going to be in much danger there.

Got mugged by Leon Best against Newcastle as well and it took a worldy from Kenny to prevent them taking the lead.

Could say the same for Faurlin against Everton, passes going all over the place, or how about Bothroyds misses against Newcastle the list goes on.

Personally I'm delighted with how EVERY player is playing & am pretty damn sure now is not the time to be digging individuals out.

Hope we do but as it stands I'm more than happy with the defences performances.

January a striker is main priority in my book.

**** me why not highlight his positives? Every single player has given the odd ball away. No one player is perfect. Gabbidon has been superb, he's strong and always does enough defensively. His defending to crosses in particular is frs rate. How many times I've seen Hall and Connolly dominated by centre forwards. Ferdinand and Gabbidon havent and they played some decent forwards so far.

                  Weak link? Dont think so.

Jan I would sign 2 players if they are available. I think Bassong is the obvious one and I think Cahill will be off to spurs, cheaper than the 15m they orginally wanted wth only 6 months left on his contract. Would be a good move for us.

Also i'd like a striker but i'd imagine it would be easier next summer to pick up someone of real quality.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Don't think that's strictly true. His remuneration is weighted towards appearance but think he is still on a fair old basic. Think we are stuck with him for a year too as that is the length of his contract and who else would take him (purely due to fitness, his ability is undoubted)?

Although MC has been bashed about in the championship and as a result his confidence is a bit shot, but I think he may be able to perform at prem level, difficult call, as I believe if he gets a run it might be the making of him.

Agree about Basong and would be delighted by him. Only issue is Africans Nations Cup - could we lose him and Traore? Other option might be Man City player we were after.

more like the breaking of him and that's me just being realistic

Very good point mate and if that's the case then it would change my thinking.
