Agreed mate. I can see something like 9 points seperating the bottom half. Very competative league this year and i can really see any sides being "Left adrift" at the bottom, more a bunch of sides (ie Swansea, Wigan, Blackburn, Norwich, Bolton) fighting it out with another bunch (ie us, Newcastle, Fulham, Wolves, Everton) being just ahead of the others and safe with a few games to go. I think goal difference will be very important this year.

Each to their own, but they will come good imo and no chance they'll finish that low. They were bad Saturday at the back, but prob not helped as trying to incorporate half a new defence which had no understanding.... this makes the fact we gelled with 3 new defenders all the more impressive.

Anyway, back to Arsenal, they still have RVP, Wilshire, Song, Walcott, Arshavin, Gervinho, Arteta, Benayoun, Rosicky, Ramsey, Sagna, Mertasacker, Vermaalan among many others..... Once the transfer window dust settles they will develop and improve a lot as there is the nucleus of a great team still, and even if their defence remains suspect, they will win more than they lose.

As for us, i'm eying a top half finish.

As i said previously, as much as i would love it, I cant see Arsenal finshing outside the top 6 tbh.

As for us, I know its easy to get carried away, but looking at our current squad and the way weve been playing, I cannot see any reason at all why, with continued hard work and commitment, we cant finish top half? Nobody can argue we dont have the ability to finish above, for example:

        Everton
        Fulham
        Newcastle
        WBA
        Bolton
        Wolves
        Swansea
        Wigan
        Norwich
        Blackburn

Whether we will or not will obviously only be seen come May, but I think we certainly have the ability and potential to.

You could probably add Stoke, Villa and Sunderland to that list, at least if we keep playing the way we have the last two games and stay mostly injury-free.

Edit: Not that I'm saying will finish above all those teams, but I don't think the gulf in quality is so large we can't finish above a decent chunk of them.

Short memory Matty - remember what our six fingered friends said about the "quality" of our deadline day signings - I can't be bothered to lok but I bet they still reckon we're cack and they will finish above us and in the top half

This is true Blue (rhyme not intended... honest!)

Bbut those folk cant think straight. Bless em, its not their fault, its a genetic flaw caused when direct family members interbreed, something to do with matching DNA i believe. Although I don't know the ins and outs of it all, all i know isit makes em talk sh1te and sound like fools

To be fair to the other teams that will be around us we don't play many of them in our run in at the end of the season

Indeed. Thats what we havent considered. If we are in the relegation battle at the end of tge season we will struggle, eg man c will probably be battling for the title
My first game was boxing day 96 QPR 3-2 Norwich....yes we actually beat Norwich.

There are so so so many permitations that can and will affect every team this year.how anyone can predict or even have a pop at predicting the end table is beyond me.Except Man U and Man C being 1 and 2 that is.

What he said, before Saturdays game the press, pundits and fans alike were "positive" that Wolves would be a strong mid table team, not so sure now are they....

predicting where we will finish after 2 good games is a recipe for disaster, two injuries to key players and we will struggle.

lets just keep are heads down and keep grinding out performances like Saturday, then see where we are in the January window...
