We should do an exchange with the Linford Christie stadium. We would get more land and space to build our new stadium, and the LR land continues to be used for recreational stuff to satisfy the covenant.

I like the new Lille stadium proposal, maybe a little smaller but it has, retractable roof, its close to the pitch, and looks stunning. google it.

adding 1,500 to the capacity will make peanuts compared to the real revenue which is TV right now.

We haven't played a game to a sell out in the QPR seats since being back in the Prem - even Newcastle was short.

I remember a year ago lots on here saying EVERY game would be sold out in the Prem and we needed a 40,000 seater stadium. Then prices were criticised and the popular comment was lower prices would gaurauntee sell outs....well here we are. Newcastle had plenty of empty seats, that's with a new team and a price drop. Can we blame live TV now?

That only leaves one argument - that a new stadium will bring in the crowds. Well maybe. Then they will all get slated for being Johnny Come lately's.

From what I remember Newcastle tickets were at the 'old' prices.

Anyway, a new stadium is needed if not just for the increased capacity but for the facilities and services.

To meet market demands you need modern facilities, with plenty of space, open clear concourses and entry/exits to the stadium. Lets face it currently we don't even have enough toilets! Trying to move around the ER stand is almost impossible.

A new spacious 25 - 28K seater stadium would suffice. The problems occur if and when we drop out of the PL. Looking at Southampton who moved from a 15K stadium to a 32K capacity it was far too big a jump and it could be said they have a much bigger/wider catchment area with no other local teams (Pompey and Bournemouth are close but 45mins away can't be considered local). Even when they had two or three seasons in the PL with the new stadium they only filled it half a dozen times. Go there now, and even with 18-20K it feels and looks half empty, although no as bad as the Ricoch Arena!

As for 'Johnny come lately's' when any club does well and gets promoted new fans, old 'dormont' fans, etc turn up and want a piece of the action and what is so wrong with that?
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

I wouldn't be surprised if AEG are involved considering our new CEO and their failed bid for the Olympic Stadium.

Issues. There's a rugby club and a hockey club there already, I believe, along with the Thames Valley Harriers. Solution. Hockey club and rugby club to Loftus Road, and maybe the TVH could move to Willesden where the Queens Park Harriers are located. Perhaps a few million quid for 'moving expenses' may be required, which is peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

Personally, I want the club to grow and I'd guess so does TF and AB, so a move is the best solution.

Some years ago I had a chat with Chris Wright who told me he had spoken to Steve Gibson at Middlesbrough who said the Riverside pulled in bigger crowds because it was a new venture and a new beginning. Rangers being in London, a new stadium would have plenty of commercial opportunities, and with bigger crowds could increase our revenue, not just through extra tickets sold, but greater advertising revenue and increased merchandise sales.

Arsenal were concerned when they built the Emirates, if they could sell enough tickets. They currently have a massive waiting list for season tickets, although on current form, there may not be too many takers

That looks like it would fulfil most of the fans requirements, would keep the crowd noise in, keeps us close to the pitch, but also gives the multi-purpose possibilities we need commercially.

                    Lovely looking stadium too.

                    One like that please.

Arsenal had a waiting list for season tickets of over 25000 when they left Highbury. Not in same boat as us.

The record attendance at The Riversids is for an England match - Middlesborough have never filled their ground. They play in front of over 11,000 empty seats regularly at home games - even when in the top flight it was a mass of empty seats.

Stadiums alone don't part people from their cash.

True perhaps, but a new stadium would attract some good players and show ambition. I simply don't think Loftus Road is good for our long-term future.

                          Agreed

LR generates a lovely atmosphere, and the closeness to the pitch are great, but it is old, and uncomfortable and tiny.

would a top five bet be good odds

what odds would i get for a top, five spot i think warnock is the second best manager in the country so i assume we will hit the top five fairly easily, but surely the odds would be non existant knowbody in there right mind would bet against us......................WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

Just look at google map and I agree there does seem to be more land space. Let hope he goes for Linford Christie stadium but at the end of the day it is up to Tony!

I don't think we will hear anything more about building a new stadium for a while...It all take time.
