God this is getting really boring now. If the Sousa brand of football excites you so much why not get a season tickey at the Liberty Stadium and let the rest of us move on with the next era of more attacking football in W12

Dav ok what I will say is that he did have bad luck with injurys. Vine, buzz, dave and Rowlands all out. So although I am happy we have got a british manager that know the league I do differ to Pete. Without those players regardless of manager we are NOT a top 6 club and you can't blame Sousa with everything and it did just highlight how thin our squad was.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

There seems to have been interference, but equally his tactics were mind-numbing. And yes he was treated appallingly, but that is not what we are debating in this thread is it?

But why would any owner want to dictate that a 4-5-1 formation is always used especially at home?

whatsthe point of this really .. this will always be one that splits opinion between those that could see what was being built and understood we had a poor squad without the injured players and those that like to follow certain opinions regardless ;D

So like so many others you are saying you are right and the rest of us are just stupid......only you tried to dress it in a different suit. All bow down to those that know they are right and anyone else with an opinion is merely a sheep.
In my opinion what was being built (as you put it) was a castle made of straw - Sousa was not and is not a proven/successful manager and his only pedigree is as a player - so until he proves he is worthy of your opinion as being the obviously correct one please don't insult the rest of us as being sheep for the sake of it.

I am entitled to be pleased that we've moved on and as I said before - Swansea is not so far away if you want to watch total football the Sousa way - total in this instance by the way often amounts to nil :exciting:

first off, people will always disagree over issues like these, and i can see both sides of the argument, that yes PS was always of the opinion that a boring 0-0 was better than an attacking 0-2, but also that the squad he inherited was poor...

my personal overriding opinion is that Sousa was treated appallingly, from sacking his assistant, to "fans" undermining every decision at games and on message boards.

The players seemed to like him, we were solid at the back and our only deficiency was upfront, which when we had no other options that SDC who wasnt made for the CCC is unsurprising.

We saw in Lopez the quality of player Sousa could potentially bring to the club - id sure as hell prefer Jordi to Gavin Mahon - and i think he shouldve been given this summer to do HIS OWN scouting and HIS OWN purchasing without interference from above to see what his nouse was like in the transfer market...

i personally believe he'll be a great success and throughly expect Swansea to be looking down the table at us this season, given an understanding and supportive board and fanbase....

whilst that is my opinion, i can still understand that FB would feel the money he has put in gives him the right to pick formations, players and cast out players he dislikes - if i had invested millions of my money i may well feel the same...

main thing though is that we have definately moved on and need to look forward not back

Actually agree with Superckat, we move on.

Next season will be interesting though. Think if Swansea do well, then I'll accept all the crowing (not after 5 games) and you will believe me, but if they struggle allow me to do the same.

Other that QPR, is my number 1 concern for next season.

No owner in their right mind would want 4-5-1 at home and Sousa had total control over team affairs.. After failing for about 6-7 games, a view was expressed to play 2 up front. Me in that situation, would have done the same.

Fergie had Rooney and Rondalo and very rarely played 1 up front, in fact to win games when he was behind, he played 4 up front.

sueprckat, 98.2% of the time you are right.

the 1.8 on Sousa you were wrong

My opinion is just as valid as yours - I'm bored of people harping on about the past - Magilton is the manager now - not Sousa - but oh so many of you want to watch his style of play so why not go there and watch it!
