I'm not surprised Sky viewers chose Wright-Phillips as MotM because he is a) a star name and b) an attacking player, but I have to say I'm genuinely disappointed more diehard QPR fans (ie the type of fans who post on this site) did not recognise the incredible contribution Faurlin made. Are they too dazzled by the big new names? I'm not being sentimental for its own sake in bigging up one of the existing players (indeed, I think generally our fans exaggerate very slightly how good Derry is - stand by for tin hat time) but Faurlin was top Premiership class last night. I'll often bow down to the views of other posters on a particular player or whatever but on this particular occasion if fans don't see Alejandro's contribution I just say, respectfully, that you are wrong. If you doubt me read, for instance, Oliver Holt, chief football writer in The Times, or as others have said the Newcastle forum. Just a shame some of his own fans don't recognise what a gem we have n Alejandro.
got to say saw his contribution even more so when watched on sky plus when i got in and watched game again, personally for me thought he was pretty slow to start but got better with evry passing minuteafter the 20 min mark, where i would disagree with you is on derry as last night he looked like hed always played in the pl

Don't get me wrong, am not knocking Derry at all, love the way he is proving people wrong and definately worth his place. Said in another thread he does the ugly stuff that allows us to have players like Adel in the team. But what I would say is that Alejandro - on last night's performance, and fully accept he hasn't always looked so good so far this season - looks a different class. Honesty, if he keeps that up I wouldn't be remotely surprised if someone like Arsenal came in for him. Broke up play the whole time and then distributed it brilliantly - what more could any fan want from a midfield player, except perhaps a bit more venom in front of goal?

There were one or two on this site ready to give up on Faurlin after a couple of poor games, in my opinion the guy is sheer class
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

What I will say though is yes, Best "done" Gabby which is "worrying" - he done him with a touch of class that would have done the same to top class defenders - he also wouldn't have had the chance if Paddy hadn't cocked up his clearance in the first place. Credit to Paddy for putting right his own wrong with a quality save but you are a tad harsh to blame Gab.
Who did Sky make MOTM? Just curious

Finally SWP was dreamy at times - such pace, energy and vision. Yes he was quieter in the second half but I don't think that was anything to do with a tactical move - that was his first start on over a year and he just ran out of steam. What's he gonna be like when he's match fit
            Great point Blue!

Whilst I'm here by the way, just gotta say that when you said "SWP was dreamy at times, you didnt half sound like a love-struck teenage girl writing her daily diary entry about her latest "crush"

That's a bit like how I felt when I wrote it - I nearly put one of those smiley thingys with love heart eyes but thought better of it Seriously though I struggle to recall a better debut by a Rangers player in many a year and it really did take me back a long way to my younger days looking for the last time Rangers had proper skill and pace all in the same player.

                love it.

Tbf mate I agree, although only 20 so my experience of rangers players is somewhat limited, Ithink he could be 1 of the most exicting players weve had for a long long time. Cant remember a winger weve had that has such pace and ability when running at a player, reminds me abit of DouDuo.... only he can play football

Anyone who doubted how well derry would perform in the PL should watch last night and try just looking at him throughout the game. His positioning, tracking the ball, important tackles and just general control of the centre of midfield was something I was so amazed at. An example of this would be his tracking of Best down the right wing (a pacy player and derry showed surprisngly good pace to follow him the whole way) and need to stick in a top-quality tackle on him as soon as he recieved the ball. Even the commentator complemented him on that. Yes, his two headers at goal where not the best but come on, would you have really put money on him out-jumping both Taylors and Coli to even win one of them. I disagree that we exxagerate his actual performances, i think he deserves a starting place every week considering he keeps up these types of performances..

Well summed up mod. We have some great reporters here whose comments turn into action replays for those of us who watched.
