As for the weight thing - I didn't notice but he is quite small and maybe the hoops just didn't suit too much Also, he hasn't played any football since last season so may just be carrying a bit too much?
On your second point, have you ever come on as a late sub in a football match? It is nigh on impossible to get into the game and one where the pace was intense, the passing so crisp, he was always going to look out of place if he did even one thing below par.
On in the 88th min for his debut, adrenelin buzzing and a performance that was so good before him - the kid was on a hiding to nothing.
I agree with Matty, his stats at Blackpool and Wall speak highly and Warnock wanted him here = good enough for me and I'll judge him at Christmas when the loan runs out
Horizontal stripes are unflattering to any figure, guess that applies to hoops as well seriously though, he looked a little overweight but as has been said, he hasn't played for a little while. Send him to boot camp!
Agree with NortholtRanger, he didn't look comfortable with the pace of play, although he was coming on after such a great performance anybody would look out of place. Going to keep an eye on him, NW has faith in him and we have faith in NW
Also NW was very keen to get him so, I for 1, and going to give him time to proove himelf to me.
Farkinghell, thinking about it, didnt he cmoe on in the 88th min? Gotta be a recor for writing a player off, 2mins of football
In fairness, to some of our fans the way they carry on giving someone two minutes to prove themselves is being positively indulgent. Jury entirely out on Puncheon so pointless bigging him up or knocking him down. He is another Warno gamble, hopefully better than his Clarke one, but I for one am quite happy to admit that Warno knows a bit more about the game than me and he has earned the right to have his judgement backed.
As for Hogan, agree entirely with Matty - don't understand why some fans have this sentimental attachment to a player who wasn't good enough to get in West Ham's reserves. I asked a while ago if anyone could name a single game he has played in for us that he turned on his own. I didnt get one answer. He looked reasonably good for us for about half a dozen games when he was still on loan and our expectations were a lot, lot lower, but since then hasn't done anything to speak of in two and a half years. That is a reasonable time frame to judge a player, not two and a half minutes.
