  • Luke Young

Others will rightly get the plaudits but I thought Young was absolute class at right back today looked every bit the veteran England international

Excellent player. Full of energy & never bottles a tackle. Great signing.

Also thought Traore looked absolute class before he went off. The different quality at full back was one of the main transformations.

Agreed thought both were superb, think had Traore stayed on we would have probably won the game but great starts and thankfully just a bit of cramp for Traore !

when traore went off i feel we lacked something down the left. dont understand why connolly was on bench over hill.

Warnock joked about him getting cramp at 22 when interviewd on Sky later.

Because as a sub he can play anywhere across the back. Hill is a solid player but as the Bolton game showed this level is a bit too much for him. Connolly did nothing wrong when he came on.

Whole team played well to tonight. Good to get a clean sheet. Gabbidon a bit dodgy with those 2 passes in the first half!

Very composed performance from Young. Traore looked good too. About time we had good full backs. And yes, one game doesn't make them Bardsley and Wilson. But hey, they did well so fair play.

Suspended isnt he? Personally, id prefer conners to Hill anyway. Cant help but think Hill (as great a servant as he is and should be around in the squad) will get left for dead in high tempo games.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

What a difference having two actual full backs made!

Thought Luke Young was superb - making the overlap, covering back, tackled well, and seemed to give a **** too

I think he must still be suspended as got a straight red in the first game so would've got a 3 match ban (this this being our 4th match, the last of his ban).
