That is a very good question. How much power / authority was he allowed by BE and FB. After all they were reluctant to spend money at the best of times, on the players the manager wanted, so surely they wouldn't have sanctioned the contract either, becasue Warnock didn't want him so they could've saved the money....

That said maybe they knew they would definitely wrap up a buyer so it would become the incumbants ongoing problem, not their own...

      Del,

Possibly without realising, you have demonstrated why the GP debate, valid as it was / is, causes so much of a problem on here.

Some people, for reasons known only to themselves, are still stupid enough to believe that there is either some link between this messageboard and GP, or that the moderation team are particularly pro-GP. The facts are that this could not be further from the truth.

I for one would actually welcome a proper debate about the subject as I mentioned in an earlier post and echoed by PeterG. I think it could be interesting and informative. But I just know that at some point, some ill informed ignorant muppet, will start making unfounded accusations, because they still believe what they have been told by someone else is correct as opposed to sticking to the facts.

There are some that feel there is a form of censorship in place. Sly comments about people being at risk of warnings or infractions for daring to mention the subject and how the threads about it will suddenly close.

Well, this thread is still open, nobody has had even a sniff of a warning and in fact debate has been positively encouraged, even by someone who does not see the matter as a priority.

All anybody from the moderating team has or will ever request, is that subjects are discussed without constant personal abuse and spreading of unfounded allegations. Not difficult is it ?

Sorry Ric, posted this early afternoon in case you need an early night.

PS: Vblock, good and valid question by the way and am still waiting to hear re. your question, but will get back to you as soon as I have had a response myself.

"This thread's gone a bit off topic."

Such is the nature of things, is there a rule about maintaining relevancy to original post? whats the %

"A topic that is, which many off us weren't too bothered about in the first place"

if you are not bothered leave it alone, its a messageboard not a popularity contest

My personal take on it is that the club are still undecided on what to do about GP.

The Italian ("mission") job was a way to:

          a) See how good a job he does out there tying to find clubs for Pellicori & Alberti.

          b) To buy the board some time until they decide.
