  • R's discussed on 5Live tonight..

anyone else catch this tonight? I only caught someone summing up that a number of the new players were with us to prove doubters wrong etc and not 'just' for the dough...

That prize buffoon Claridge had obviously had his say but I didn't catch what he said but be amazed if it was anything other than negative...

Was wondering if anyone could shed some light... many thanks in advance..

PS.. watching the US Open tennis on Sky and Annabel Croft has worn well... I remember her giving me the horn 20 odd years ago and she's still gorgeous...

    MMMMMM....

I caught a brief bit of this - actually the clown that is Claridge was talking positively about the changes. They also had Anton Ferdinand on for a chat and he seemed well and truly sold on the Rangers revolution.
Basically, Claridge suggested that the signings of the likes of Barton, SWP, Ferds, Bothroyd and DJC were taking us to a new level and when added to the rest of the signings, we had a whole new team - he enjoyed repeating that he didn't think we had a prayer of staying up beofre deadline day but thought we now had good a chance of survival. My god he is a genius of an analyst!
Had his usual dig at Adel - actually just dismissed him as not good enough for the PL.

John Motson on the other hand - always liked him
He is covering next week's game and said he can't wait to see how we set up, reckons we have a side to impress and it's nice to see Rangers back in their rightful home. No sly digs about us or our ground - loves it because it's a proper stadium and even better under lights...........and most importantly, he excused us from the last minute window madness because of how late the cavalry arrived, said we had done good business and spoke glowingly about Fernandes - proper football chairman etc.

It was agreed all round that Rangers appeared to be back to the Club we all know and love, where supporters matter more than the caviar and crystal - and, as Motty said, that is brilliant for the fans of any proper club

Actually Claridge is not the only one and he was not having a dig, it is his opinion, one shared by the majority of pundits, managers and the majority of fans, who are waiting for Taarabt to show he is good enough for the PL and was not a one season wonder in the Championship.

IMO, he has everything and could be one of the most exciting players in the league, if he wanted it, but I think his attitude, desire and commitment to the team will always hinder him. The perfect example is is attitude to training, which some people think is OK.

I agree with what you say - but I was talking about Claridge who was 100% having a dig, as he always has with AT. Last season Claridge found every reason he could to talk about quality players in the NPC without reference to AT. And last night he didn't "discuss" Adel or give any structured opinion, he just grunted, said "not convinced" and moved on without elaborating and certainly without mentioning any of the above factors which we are all aware of.

Claridge is a twunt, doesn't have anything good to say about AT and in fact actually has NOTHING to say about him at all.

            From 1:45 onwards.

Re. The Footfaced W&nker: You can just hear the disdain he has for us in his voice and by the way he keeps on interrupting Motty and the other chap with his BS "opinions". The guy is a twunt of the highest order and I'm frankly dismayed that I have to by law pay a portion of his wages.

Excellent appraisal and as I feared that chumpchops SC was at it again... in the pic posted he looks like a balding/receding uglier and fatter faced version of Paul Weller....

Great Interview with Adel, never thought I'd see him so focused.

I hope that we see the best of him this year and all the hard work he's put in pays off, not just for him but the club and fans as well.

It seems that every player wants to go out and play for the shirt, makes a change. <
