he was a fantastic winger,davie had everything,although he wasnt a goal predator like bridges,so barry scored loads more goals than davie,i think lazarous was another goal predator,he scored around eighty goals for us

Ted I'm fairly sure that Barry Bridges was a centre forward if my memory serves me right. You are right about Mark Lazarous in his 3 spells with us.

no no no chelsea football club unearthed two of the greatest goalscoring wingers in the history of football,if you go on bridges wikipedia it will show you that bridges scored more prolifically than clive allen but he was in the youth set up with bobby tambling who wore number 11 bridges wore number 7
but bridges could play as center forward or as right winger

Well we have a different of opinoun here, Routs who i will admit was great for us last year has had over 100 games in the Prem for varoius clubs and is yet to score one goal and i think only has something like 5 assists. SWP has scored for england and regulary in the prem and the only reason why he cant get in the Man City side is the fact there are buying all the superstars.

I will agree with you SWP final ball can be improved but there is comparion to what Routs is at this level as he dosnt even make a stary.

SWP is a great bit of business and IMHO is 100 times better than Routs and for a mere £1m more i am very happy.

Blue knows me well! I was indeed commenting tongue in cheek Big Ears, im 100% in agreement with your post bud. Wayne done really well for us last year but if a toss up between him and SWP for £1mill more, looking at both their records, it really is a no brainer.

one player everyone forgets is wayne faraday,if we had played him as a winger instead of a overlapping full back god only knows how many goals he would have scored

another player could have been roger morgan if he wasnt sold to spurs and got badley injured,he may well have gone on to be a fantastic winger

SWP hardly a prolific goalscoring winger very poor crosser of the ball ,does the hard work beats people gets into dangerous positions but generaly his fianal ball is CACK! hope N.W. can get his delivery better especially with Bothroyd in the team who's very good in the air.
