Most operators do it, Swanley. Call 08457 48 49 50. They usually put you through to Virgin trains. Ask for the cheapest way, and they usually do it as two singles.

About 6-7 years ago, I got a return to Sheffield for £14. £8 there, and £6 back.

I guarantee sky tv will screw you up for at least a couple of games.

Its the risk you take at this level I suppose
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

                  Thats the big problem.

If you'd have bought Wigan tickets in advance, you may have already spent your savings.

That`s a good price but are you committed to specific train times? Just wondering in case there`s a hold up - especially on way back.

You are, but on the way back, it never matters. The OB just want rid of the away fans ASAP.

I always buy the cheapest return, then jump the 1st train I can when I get to the station.

Megabus does trains as well. They start from £1 and are virgin trains. I got a return to London from Coventry for £4 for the hull game las season.

Away to Everton the Virgin Trains staff/British Transport Police turned people away for not having the correct tickets so be careful about that...

actually it's usually cheaper to book directly via the train operator's website NOT the trainline. the trainline charge you a booking fee and also a credit card fee. most train operators do not. as someone who travels on the train cross country every week, i would definitely avoid booking online with the trainline if there's a train operator website alternative.

the fares you pay on the trainline should be identical to those you see on the train operator sites, too, as they use the same system. so provided it's a route that virgin actually run, 100 times out of 100, it will work out cheaper booking your ticket online on the virgin website. PLUS....if you 'like' virgin trains on facebook, they will update you when they run their advance ticket sale.

If you can get yourself a travel card you will save money. Have got a Family and Friends one and have just booked Hemel to Birmingham, Birmingham to Wolves return for me and the boy for £12. Try LondonMidland.
