We've done amazing business bringing in quality players on a free or cheap!

      Great reading for me.

We've managed to build a prem worthy squad, and not busted the bank on transfer fees.

Big hand to Neil and the new board. They've done a great job

Why is it always about how much we have spent, if we had been told at the end of last season we would have Barton, SWP, Young, Ferdinand, Bothroyd, DJ and still have Taarabt, we would have all been very happy. Stoke have not spent alot in there time in the premier but built the club slowly but surely to the point where they have the stability to go a little weird and spend money, we need to do the same.

Its nett spending, therefore taking into account sales too, hense why Arsenal's spending is down as a negative figure (megabucks coming in from Nasri n Fabregas).
Read back, but they didn't make 10 mill in transfer fees for who they sold ? Or did I miss it?

Don't think anyone suggesting we should spend more? And only the delusional would have expected more

They sold Cliche for 7mill, Jay E.T for 1.1mill, Nasri for 25mill, Fabregas for 35mill and Eboue for 4mill giving them a total of £72.1mill coming in from sales (i think these figures are correct anyways, apologies if not).

They then spent just over 51mill on Jenkinson, Gervinho, Oxend-Chamberlain, Park Chu-Young, Santos Mertersacker and Arteta, giving them a "profit" in the transfer market of approx £20mill.

The figures from OP state 16mill though dont they? I think the difference comes from the relativley small amounts (in football terms anyway!) they paid for some youngsters from Spain; Jon Toral, Héctor Bellerín and Joel Campbell.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Stoke figures can't be right, 11.8m? The players out were either on loan or free transfers. 11.8m for Crouch, Jerome and Palacios???

Good point mate I dont know how these figures have been reached. The only player they got money for was Carl Dickinson who was bought by Watford but Im pretty sure that wasnt for £10mill!

SSN says 3mill for Anton. I believe it was 1.2 for Traore?

Officially £8.25m spent, not that it matters as £s don't always = quality

We have brought in some good players at a good price, and makes up for losing out on Naughton,Graham and Routledge, might even have got in better players

Sorry those three names are Championship at best baring Naughton who I think has a chance in the Premiership. They are utter tosh in comparisom to the players we have brought in. I'm not saying this because I am a Rangers fan, BUT SWP & BARTON WOULD WALK INTO 90% OF PREMIERSHIP SIDES STARTING ELEVEN
