Do you honestly think a fit Kieron Dyer at right back is better than Luke Young?

        Offensively, he possibly offers more.

Yes offensively he would offer more, if he doesn't fall apart, but RB is a defensive position first and foremost, and Luke Young played for England in that position and isn't fragile, so will be a better option.

I can't wait for Dyer to get fit so we can now use him as an attacker whcih he's best at. Just think we were crying about what a lack of pace we had the other day, now when all fit, we could have the likes of SWP, DJ, Dyer, Taraabt, Traore and Young (not sure if quick, but assume no slouch) causing all sorts of problems.

Young is the better full-back. Dyer is the better wing-back. I can imagine them both battling it out for that spot.

                My starting XI for Newcastle:

                -------------Kenny--------
                Young--Ferdinand-Gabbidon-Traore

                -------Derry------Faurlin---------

                --SWP-------Barton---------Taarabt

------------Campbell---------------------------Subs: Murphy, Helguson, Bothroyd, Buzsaky, Smith, Connolly, Hill

It's a tough one in defensive midfield as Ali Faurlin, Derry and Joey B are all great players so I would put Joey attacking midfield (because he's known to play really well there) and Adel on the left so he can cut inside a lot and shoot (like against swansea + others). I don't think Warnock will change the formation as it is a very strong one. Also it will be tough choosing a striker to play every week so I guess we'll have to wait and see to see who's better really.

Looking at the fixtures we have a lot of difficult ones up ahead til January and - not being defeatist, but reasonably speaking - there's no one else we realistically could have signed to make the kind of difference that would see us taking serious points off the top 6.

I think we've done enough to stay in contention til January, which is really when we can improve the squad some more (with some proper planning this time!) and really get motoring up the table.

I'm happy we've got a lot more in the way of options now.

                        4-4-2
                        Code:
                        Kenny
                        Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore
                        SWP Barton Faurlin/Derry Taarabt
                        Campbell Bothroyd
                        4-5-1
                        Code:
                        Kenny
                        Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore
                        SWP Barton Faurlin/Derry Buzsaky Taarabt
                        Bothroyd
                        4-3-3
                        Code:
                        Kenny
                        Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore
                        Barton Derry Faurlin
                        SWP Bothroyd/Campbell Taarabt
It means some of the jokers we've signed won't make the bench, thank god. A striker would've been nice so I can stop fretting at the thought of Big Dave getting another 90 in the Premier League, bless him. Maybe we'll do something in January on that front.

I think on the odd occasion when Dyer is fit he'll be used as a impact sub for SWP.

Also, I'm hoping we don't lose Traore to the African Cup of Nations in January. Could be a problem.

Dyer at RB is an injury waiting to happen and therefore a liability.

All about opinions and everybody is entitled to theirs but, in mine, Luke Young is leagues ahead of Dyer in my RB choise.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

DJ and SWP must be the two shortest players in English football, if we play hoofball (which I hope we won't) they may as well not be there.
Their talent lies in other areas and Neil knows that, still think we could have done with a tall forward just in case headers/long balls etc or even just to hold the ball up and lay it off to our other forwards. But please god don't play ageymang.

Good to have Mackie back on the bench when he's fit again, only time will tell if he fits in to the prem, could be a good option.
                                We actually have a squad.

When do the 25 man squads have tO be in by?
