  • Has our club changed forever now?

Mow we are in the Premier paying however many thousands of pounds in wages to Barton and Young let alone who ever else joins us I really hope we don't lose our soul as a club we have all supported for so many years

I have seen it quoted that Barton will be receiving about £6 million from us over his contract which is of course what we received for arguably one of our all time great players Les Ferdinand and as much as I welcome players of this calibre coming to Loftus Rd I cannot help thinking back to some of the seasons since we went down from the Premier and still loved going home and away every week despite having no cash or decent players

Seems we have moved in with the big boys for good now but lets hope that special feeling being a supporter of this club of ours stays the same

I have noticed u have stay quiet about on the big names signing. I can't really understand where your coming from. Most fans have waited years for some serious investors and now we have them. Bloody exciting times 2 say we have a chance with competing with the likes of chelsea and arsenal. Enjoy the ride because u deserve it and that's where we differ, I hated watching us in league 1
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Dont get me wrong I love the fact that the likes of Barton even considered us let alone actually signed for us and I hope more like him come as well its just the fact that the QPR most of us have known for years now looks to have gone forever

      Onwards and upwards

There's a distinct possibility that we will ride the crest of the premier league wave for a few seasons, then sink like a stone when the reality that a club the size of QPR usually fails when it trys to punch above its weight sinks in.

Truly hope that the sinking part doesn't happen but bigger clubs than ours have done exactly that.

Am going to live for the moment and enjoy the crest though. I'll throw a few quid in the collection buckets again, if and when the time comes.

What a awful *ucking depressing post.

I have faith in Tony Fernandes and he should be treated with respect. At last we have a footballing man running the club. I think you are definitely a glass half empty fan. Really can't believe it really, I don't think the owners can do anything right in some fans views.

TF's plans to build a great academy, do more work in the community and move to a bigger stadium will inevitably turn us into a bigger club.

Isleworth, I would share your concerns if there was no transparency or communication lines, but that is simply not the case, so I think its more of a win-win scenario. Also I don't see it as "our club has changed forever", because you can never say forever, but more a case of its "changing for the better".

I think the club was losing its soul in the Championship under Briatore with his arrogant and erratic approach. The new owners seem more down-to-earth and getting the club priorities straight and it does not really matter what division we are in - as long as they are doing the right things to prevent fan alienation and relegation.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

I am not concerned at all about the future mate as I sincerely believe that TF and Amit will be great for us for hopefully many years to come its just that it all suddenly came out of the blue and still getting my head around it all that's all

Yes and for the better, the infrastructure will be rebuilt to produce players like Francis, Gillard, Clement, and spot local talent like Ferdinand, Impey ETC like the old days, so to summarise, yes the club will change for ever, back to our roots!!
                      Kept the faith!

I won't slate your post, i think it is a valid concern as there have been examples in the past. However, i think the people we have running the club now are very shrewd, very proffessional, and not stupid enough to stretch beyond our means. They are investing now to stay in the league (hopefully) and milk that revenue stream ongoing... don't forget even with a handful of signings, the bulk of our squad will still be on relatively low prem wages. The Prem money alone will more than cover the contracts of the new siginings (about £35m for coming bottom, joey on approx £2.5m / year!)

The clubs that had major problems were plain stupid, Leeds particulary, and had reserve players or worse on insane salaries thinking they would sustain Champions League football and accounting for the millions it would bring.... they didn't and the rest is history.

I think if the plan was for just a football club then yes we may incur problems, but I suspect if we stay in W12 hotels, casinos, etc will be bolted on to the club + concert and conference facilities

If we get a new ground no doubt. The corporate and commercial revenue from new stadiums is huge. Anything to maximise it's revenue generation is key, afterall, football is only going to be played in it for appox 30 hours a year.... only another 8730 to make use of then.

Every football fan in the world dreams of their team being on the big stage and we are almost there. I have been thro all the stages with QPR like alot of you from the old 3 division to runners up and back down. Us oldies have not got much time on this earth so seeing QPR in this position is a blessing. I know where your coming from Isleworth but lets make the most of it.
