I can't see him being too costly. Rodger Johnson is arguably better and only left for 5mill.. 3mill maybe for Dann?

dont want to put a dampner on this but i bet we are beign offered all sorts of players - we are about the only club outside the top six with big money to spend. But we can't have everybody and there is no suggestion in the article that we actually want him. Wd obviously be a fantastic signing tho.

Scott Dann would be class and he's a top 4 defender imo so it would be our best signing IMO.

As for the price it may not be that bad. Arsenal ( For reasons I cannot explain ) & Liverpool are no longer going after him and I know he's one of Birminghams highest paid players and want him gone so 5million or maybe even less.

          Please be true!
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Wolves wanted to tie up Johnson before others had the chance, hence they paid a lot early in the wondow to sure up the deal... I was surprised he went there tbh.

This is totally different as Brum want to offload him and time is against them before the window shuts, hence if interest has wavered, they may have to take a lower fee than they'd like to offload the wages.

I would wonder why Arsenal and Liverpool have turned their back though after apparently been looking... has he performed badly this season since his injury, if so, he may not be the player of last season and might be a waste of money...?

this would be a great signing...bring Ridgwell with him too......i really dont understand Wenger, after yesterdays debacle you'd think he'd be desperate for a decent defender with Prem experience, who doesnt cost the earth and would fir into their strict wage structure...oh well, their loss

If my calculations are correct, NW should have £5-6m left to spend since Parker didn't happen.

I think he needs better tbh.

With regards to Dann, have heard good things, but to be honest never bothered watching Brum games last season as they were so boring. Playing devil's advocate a bit, if Dann, Johnson, Ridgewell and Carr were all so brilliant, as everyone says they are... why did they get relegated?

lack of goals cost them..that defence was the bedrock on which their success was built.

Very true blue. I remember watching them beat arsenal in the carling cup final and they were under siege for ages. Danns and Johnson were superb, although I do always remember Johnson more. He was an outstanding centre back and actually worth 7 million.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Fair play, like i said i chose not to watch them as thought they were the most negative team in the prem for the last few years.

Blackburn steal march on QPR as £5m bid is accepted for Birmingham defender Dann

Blackburn have agreed a £5million fee with Birmingham for defender Scott Dann in a bid to head off competition from ambitious QPR.

Dann, 24, has attracted the interest of a host of clubs with Birmingham resigned to losing him following their relegation to the Championship last season.
