  • Arsenal are in more trouble.

Arsenal, (through their investment department) have lost about £80m in the last few weeks, due to all the instability in the investment markets (stocks, shares, bonds etc).

I kid you not. I can't tell you how I know this as I would be breaching a few rules, but basically, all the money they have recieved from transfers has been wiped out by the losses they have taken (mainly government bonds in Europe).

    From an Arsenal Forum.

    Rather them than chelshit tho.

Maybe should be in another sub-forum. Feel free to move mods.

They truly are. It's very strange that they are able to spend money on players when they have large debts.

...and the ONLY way we can possibly 'Lord it' over them for this is if TF is true to his word. He says cash is king and that he deals in CASH; if that is the case, his consortium will be fully funding our losses and will not, either today, or at a later date, claim that they were loans, after all. If that happens, we'll be leading the race down that creek without a boat let alone a paddle...

Davman we have investors, tony isn't on his own, arsenal don't have the wealth we have, plus they r. Probably still paying 4 that lovely stadium. Enjoy the ride and enjoy the quality that is at last coming through our door
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Other clubs and woiuld have agreed, but Arsenal shares are owned by 2 Major shareholders (both billionaires) and a small majority holding by the fans. If the fans do sell there shares on the stock exchange both the majorshare holders will buy them up so I cant see them dropping.

The only other thing were they may have lost on money, is if they have been investing in stocks and shares with the money raised by transfers and the selling of the houses on Highbury and if thats the case some needs to tell them they are a football club and should be investing this on the field.
One for all.... and all for one

Bush we now clearly have the mittals finally showing there worth. Clearly we don't generate the money arsenal do but we have the wealth 2 take us forward. We will need a bigger stadium but its clear the owners will take a small loss but make it back by keeping us in the premier league and then u watch us grow. I'd imagine being bigger than them in 5 years but we have wealthier investors.

Wasn't my point that they're dropping. A club like Arsenal never drop would with 60k crowds. My point is that if this information is correct, it may take some years for Arsenal to recover from the wounds. If their owners doesn't invest in this window they can forget about the top four, and that equals to less incomes which equals to a smaller amount of player thats interesting in joining. All hypothetical at the moment of course.

Hoops somethings not right. They clearly need investment but wengers hands sound tied. When asked will u be bringing in new players, he replied with, in england people think the answer is to spend but reality was we have 8 1st team players out. The pressure from media and fans is immense. They clearly need 2 spend 2 make the top 4 but I found that a very strange answer.
