If Crouchy did come back I wonder if it might be Tabs under most threat. Crouchy lends himself to playing alongside a tricky small guy so DJ might be the one. But with two up front you need a disciplined midfield four. Or maybe its just about having lots of different options/ permutations which we've never really had before - until now our team has more or less picked itself. For the record woud love Crouchy, though given a choice between him and Onouha - well my heart says Crouchy but my head says Onouha.

ps: I realise I'm a bit slow but can't really believe we are having this debate. When I'd overhear Chelsea fans discussing whether they prefer Drogba or Torres it always seemed unreal to me. Last time QPR was a really good side it wasn't really a squad game. Totally different now and it looks like some good players will have to make do with warming the bench for long periods now.

Have to disagree with that, there is not a more perfect foil for Taraabt than Crouch, DJ or SWP will play wide right, I think Buzz has done enough to play in the middle Taraabt on the left so Smith makes way and Bothroyd on the bench. Crouch suits our style of play perfectly and knows where the net is

Also Warnock is not going to play 4-4-2 he's played it for a 1/2 a game since he has been here, and its not a formation he has favoured for many years

We need 4 decent strikers in the squad. At the moment we only have 2 and 1 iffy one ( Helguson) if we sugned crouch it would add good strength and experience.

The defence needs the biggest overhaul IMHO

Does anyone else wonder if today's defeat might have a slight bearing on Neil's chances of getting his top targets in before the transfer deadline?

I don't think it will help to be honest, but we we will attract the players we can attract. The current set up (baord and manager) is as good as it could be to attrract players. Higher league position and better players may have helped, but we are not in that position.

Can't say. Will say that Crouch was originally due to be part of a double deal with Palacios to Stoke but said then (3 weeks ago) he didn't want to go there. Stoke now submitted seperate bid (accepted). Crouch not spoken to them. Will have to be an eye watering offer to change his (and Abbie's) mind and he'd commute. Sunderland will probably get the same response but slightly more attractive football and location wise (Newcastle) than Stoke. Get the impression Crouch holding out for us or Fulham and I'm sure would probably be interested to hear anything we were to offer.

NB - anything would need to be a permanent deal

Someone quickly tweet Amit or Tony - we could hijack this deal!!!
