More money comes in from TV/sky than gate receipts these days, so capacity not so important

You get over £30m for coming bottom in the prem.. a half decent finish and you'll be llooking at £35-40m from the league, not to mention sponsorship deals, gate receipts, corporate, merchandise etc. And that's in addition to any investment on top from TF / Mittals to help us sustain this level and revenue stream.

If Joeys on say £50k / week (peob a bit more but not as high as reports) that's just over £2.5m / season.

We have scope to pay decent wages now. The problem too many clubs get into is that they end up with a vast squad, including the dead wood on this sort of money with top players much higher. That's when it becomes a major issue. However, i have every faith in the pedegree of our management structure now that they would run our clubs within it's means.

Onwards and upwards, and i can't wait for this ride to start!!

Isn't the case was a free transfer the key? I'm in a us airport and on way back so have missed a lot but with Barton on a free even if he costs us 3 mill a season we don't do well , we would get 4-5 mill for him so really a good deal, compare this to Parker at 6-7 mill transfer fee plus the same in wages we get nothing back cos of his age!!!!

                Yeah another reason exactly.

Many have cried out for us to splash the cash and if we'd spent £5m on a player of his quality they'd think it great, but that saving covers approx half his contract so brilliant business.

Very good business. That is why NW and harry are good managers because they do good free deals. People complain about frees but van de vart was a free for spurs and many other greats etc.

Not just that, but when he comes on a free transfer, the wages can be lost in that.
