  • Conservative Estimate of How Much It's Costing...

us to keep the likes of:

    Alberti
    Pellicori
    Borrowdale
    Vine
    Rowlands
    Cook
    Ramage
    Vaagen Moen

None of the above seem to be in NW's plans for the season (maybe PVM but don't think so). I'm not convinced Shittu is either and given the choice neither would Agyemang if there was more depth to the squad but how much is this lot costing us?

It's very difficult to be absolutely certain but from what I've researched everyone of them is out of contract in the summer with the exception of Vaagen Moen and we've seen only recently Clarke leave the club after having his contract mutually terminanted. More should follow but I'm guessing most on here are prepared to keep picking up a salary rather than having the determination to prove themselves as footballers elsewhere. For all Clarke's inability he has at least proven that he wants to play football. With the squad hopefully increasing over the next few days so will the wage bill, which will increase dramatically if we sign the types of players being mentioned. Isn't now the time to get rid of some deadwood (however good some have been for us and are real servants of the club) and either plough the money back into an academy of save it to reinvest in Premiership quality.

Well if we said they were on an average of 10k a week (clearly Vine, Cook and one or two others are on more) that's 80k a week, or about £4m a year. Agree with you its imperitive we try to get some off our wage bill. Think problem might be that people like Vine want their entire contract bought out so there is nothing in it for us - we might as well let him rot in our reserves and hope we can loan them out. Hope, though, amid all our activities to get players in we are also offering players out.

After watching Vine on several occasions,i doubt even a league 2 side would actually want him,and even if they did we would have to pay 90% of his wages so its hardly a big saving is it.Unfortunately, the same can be said for cookie and rowlands and most of the crap left.
Its a terrible waste and its going to cost the club a fortune to pay them off,big mistakes made giving certain players long old contracts .

Its very hard to move players on who are on top money, clubs wont take them. Man City have the same problem, all be it on a different scale.

Ramage is out on loan, hopefully the rest will follow. If you can't borrow money, borrowdale.

Tbh some of the players we have are so so bad (ie Pellicori) that nobody would want them on loa, even only paying 3k a week for them!

I cant help but think that these were signed due to their agents being pals of Flav & GP and so it was a "favor" to legally give them a nice wedge....
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
