According to the Telegraph journalist who seems to have been leading the way with the story. Seems we offered 40,000 a week and a £1.5m signing on fee plus a £250,000 staying up bonus. We then reportedly upped this to a straight £80,000 a week offer, worth an incredible £12m over three years. And the agent apparently earns 5% and maybe even 10% if its difficult to persuade the player to join, as Barton is proving.
If any of this is true its unbelieveably high stakes. I know Warnock has rubbished press speculation about figures but he would deny it, wouldn't he, as Christine Keeler said... If it is incorrect it all seems a very detailed fabrication.
