  • Barton, win/win for us ?

    I reckon so.

If he joins us, we know he's made a considered decision despite previously stating his affection for Newcastle. We'll have a VERY good players on our hands for free, albeit on higher wages than we've ever paid before. It will set a marker for our intent and help us to attract our other targets. NW will undoubtedly get the best from him, his type of player.

If he decides against joining us, we'll still have signalled our intent and ambition for other targets, we'll have done as much as we could but saved some serious wages to be spent elsewhere on Parker or SWP or Onouha (?), etc.
Failing that, we can re-juvenate the "didn't want him anyway, the blokes a nutter" line.

Personally, I beginning to hope he joins the QPR revolution, but if he's honest enough to say he can't commit to us, so be it, we'll move on and try twice as hard on the next target. Then we'll enjoy some banter with him in our next Home game.

Or you could look at it this way...

If he decides against joining us it might be a significant moment in so much that other players of the same ilk may also decide to turn us down. Small club, threat of relegation etc etc.

    Either way we'll soon see.

That's what you call a case of a Positive post (1st one) being shot down by a Negative post (2nd one).
You two guys should work as a team on talk sport.

Negative or not it could well be the case.

Just trying to say I think it is very difficult to attract top quality players to QPR at the moment.

I'd just like to counter with 2 words -
          Money talks

With the possible exception of an emotional scouser in Newcastle, most players will go where the best offer is finacially. Unless it's a top 7 club (Europe) they'll have get out clauses if relegated. (Bothroyd, Campbell, etc)

Does that make me Andy Gray ? The housewives favourite ?
          Oh God, I'm Scottish......

Any maybe our other targets might be keener to sign knowing there's less chance of a team mate putting out a cigar in their eye ?

Or just getting kicked in training.
