Yeah I only saw that interview late last night and I didn't think he was as negative as everyone made out. He'd obviously not made up his mind otherwise would've signed by then, so having decided to go and think abouty it he then gets a camera in his face *sking if he's signed, what's happening etc.... He's hardly going to be grinning like the Joker.

I think what Barton needs is to see we are serious about bringing in other quality players. Sometimes you need that one big signing for others to follow suit. I think Neil thought that if Barton signs then others will follow him but it might turn out that he won't sign until others have first. I'm hopefull that whilst Joey is thinking that we're on the phone to Manchester City and trying to get SWP and Onouha deal sorted. Signing SWP (considering he and Barton were teammates at MC) might be the kind of signing that sways JB once and for all and vice versa.

Let's hope they don't all sit around waiting for the other to sign first

Are you sure about that, SPC?

I thought Barton was well gone before SWP re-joined Man City? I think he may have even been in prison the season SWP went back?

Good point. They would have been in the youth team together.

                  I was confident yesterday.

                  I'm not today.

Not that I'd ever said he'd signed btw.

Barton came through the youth set up and was there between 1997-2007 and SWP was there the first time between 1998-2005 so at least 7 years as team mates.
