I think we need to have a reality check as well, as this is going to happen to a few more players that we have targeted.
Dare I say it, but we seem to be acting like Chelsate fans.If it happens then we have pulled off a big coup footballing wise.If it doesn't, then we have made the effort and have to move on.
At the moment, we are still a relegation favourite for this year.If barton signs 3 year contract, he could be looking at the twilight of his years in the CCC (maybe)The flip side, is that we are at the start of a new dawn at QPR..If he signs, he might encourage others to and maybe then turn us into a side that might be battling mid table.
Patience.....we should have loads by now
JB has travelled all the way to London and done a medical, that for me is a positive, as far as what I can he has been transparent and honest

If he joins - he is exactly the type of player we need.
If he doesn't he is the last person we need at the club.
Win-Win really. Or is that Bi-Winning?

The reality is regardless of money Barton probably see's this as a backward step and it will need a lot of thinking about on his part ...Newcastle are one of the best supported and biggest clubs in the country ...he'll be going from playing in front of 50k per week to 16-18k per week ...big decision for the fella.

If he's having second thought's about joining Rs then his heart isn't in it and then we should pull the plug on this deal,Also send him back to Newky where they dont want him maybe trying to turn it into an auction looking for another offer, prob from WHU so can play with his mate Nolan!

However, what I'm struggling to understand is why he didn't give himself some thinking time prior to coming down for a medical.
I'm possibly being naive in relation to the workings of a football club and its transfer dealings, but nobody, Joey Barton particularly, is going to come out of this looking good if he doesn't sign soon.

Could create all sorts of problems for us.
It would be like going out with the ugly bird just because you needed somewhere to stay - you know you will put nothing into the relationship and get out as soon as something better comes along.

Joey isn't doing anything that anyother player doesn't do, the difference is he's tweeted.
Every player has the medical then will have a good think before putting pen to paper. You've got to remember Newcastle are a massive club, he's loved up there and settled.
As been said this is win win. If he signs, it means he's thought about it and wants to play for Rangers, not just signing for the money and to put his name out there again. If he doesn't then it's good news for us as a club that we haven't got a player who doesn't want to be here. The deal will be sorted tomorrow, one way or the other!
