Totally agree.Where is all this anger from QPR fans coming from? To be fair we seem to be acting like spoilt brats.
I think we need to have a reality check as well, as this is going to happen to a few more players that we have targeted.
Dare I say it, but we seem to be acting like Chelsate fans.If it happens then we have pulled off a big coup footballing wise.If it doesn't, then we have made the effort and have to move on.
At the moment, we are still a relegation favourite for this year.If barton signs 3 year contract, he could be looking at the twilight of his years in the CCC (maybe)The flip side, is that we are at the start of a new dawn at QPR..If he signs, he might encourage others to and maybe then turn us into a side that might be battling mid table.
Patience.....we should have loads by now
Your right, Deep breaths all. I,m puttin the kettle on now.

It been embarrassing reading the reactions off some our fans today as various bits of speculation break.
JB has travelled all the way to London and done a medical, that for me is a positive, as far as what I can he has been transparent and honest
Lol Bluehoop - if you had said to me 2 weeks ago that we would have a new owner that is going to reduce tickets prices to appease fans and put in transfer requests for the likes of Parker and Barton, i would send you for a dope test.
The timimg is not great just week before market closes, but at least it looks a lot better than couple of weeks ago.

So true - whether he signs or not, I see it all as a huge positive. I'm still smiling at the notion that we really have got our Club back and nothing's going to spoil that for now
The reality is regardless of money Barton probably see's this as a backward step and it will need a lot of thinking about on his part ...Newcastle are one of the best supported and biggest clubs in the country ...he'll be going from playing in front of 50k per week to 16-18k per week ...big decision for the fella.
If he's having second thought's about joining Rs then his heart isn't in it and then we should pull the plug on this deal,Also send him back to Newky where they dont want him maybe trying to turn it into an auction looking for another offer, prob from WHU so can play with his mate Nolan!

Tend to agree with you on this. I supose we are just not used to being in with a chance of signing a top player.
However, what I'm struggling to understand is why he didn't give himself some thinking time prior to coming down for a medical.
I'm possibly being naive in relation to the workings of a football club and its transfer dealings, but nobody, Joey Barton particularly, is going to come out of this looking good if he doesn't sign soon.

I agree with that. Last thing we want is someone who doesn't want to be at the club, but only came because they had nowhere else to go when shown the exit.
Could create all sorts of problems for us.
It would be like going out with the ugly bird just because you needed somewhere to stay - you know you will put nothing into the relationship and get out as soon as something better comes along.

If we take that attitude this year we wont sign any good players. Fair enough the likes of Puncheon will want to play for us and will jump at the chance but players like Barton can attract bigger clubs and we aren't their first choice. If we signed Puncheon and didn't sign barton would you be happy because we were Puncheon's first choice team?

Spot on mate. Sensible post in amongst the madness of some
Joey isn't doing anything that anyother player doesn't do, the difference is he's tweeted.
Every player has the medical then will have a good think before putting pen to paper. You've got to remember Newcastle are a massive club, he's loved up there and settled.
As been said this is win win. If he signs, it means he's thought about it and wants to play for Rangers, not just signing for the money and to put his name out there again. If he doesn't then it's good news for us as a club that we haven't got a player who doesn't want to be here. The deal will be sorted tomorrow, one way or the other!
