But in fairness to the current board they were left in such a hole by the previous regime that they have to panic buy unless they are prepared to go down and rebuild again next time round. The choice really is that stark. Also given our fanbase, stadium size etc if we were to try to do it organically we would probably have to go down to League 1 and even then I can't see that being a very promising way to grow the brand and get new fans. Fully accept this is a risky venture but prefer it to any of the alternatives.

Interested in your remark about how the Barton move has "set the cat among the pigeons" at Prem clubs. Who are talking about it, and what do they think this means for QPR in the Premiership?
Can't really say but a number of Chairmen and Chief Exec's were caught by surprise. Shows we mean business and are here to stand up and be counted. After the Bolton game, many thought we were pretty much doomed given T&C's lack of investment. I would suspect that the cheeses at Norwich, Swansea, Wigan and Blackburn will be a bit twitchy if SWP and Barton come in.

Asia, new ground, Academy etc, you know we can't break even for 5 years but all of this I'm sure is the bigger picture at least, I have no issue with us getting into further debt with the Mittals as I know it will be sustainable, 2 of my mates are working for man city in the mid east - they want to break even within 5 years of launch - this knocked me off
        my chair, that isn't possible.
A couple of big signings are needed, despite all the long term planning shorter term we need to stay in this division, especially for Asia.

I'm in vegas at the moment so have missed a lot of what's going on is this a genuine possibility?
Man City are the northern Chelsea. Will never be self sufficient. Just don't have the fanbase or clout to mop up the Far East or US. They're already getting a bit twitchy about UEFA's investigation into the Etihad stadium deal under FFP.

Good to hear. Think we were such a circus for so long that a lot of people made the mistake of writing us off (understandably I guess). Suddenly IF we get the players we are rumoured to be after our first team starts looking more like that of Fulham, WBA and Sunderland than Swansea, Norwich and Wigan. Even Wolves and Blackburn must be getting a bit envious/ nervous...
