I think NW wanted him for years so it wouldn't surprise me at all. Not many clubs has money at the moment and need to sell if the price is right.. Maybe we could get rid of a player or two in the same time. I've always rated Maynard but as Benny says, he's not proven at this level so there is no chance we'll pay 6,5m, half of that maybe?

He is a very exciting player imo with bags of potential, but that sort of price is ridiculous, that said i rate him higher than Danny Graham who was £3.5m. (also inflated).

However, if Warnock has watched him for years he may well fancy having him in the ranks and it may be an opportunity to offload some of the deadwood at the club.

Think about it, we have many players not going to get near the first team this year who won't go anywhere lower leagues as the teams won't pay the high wages we give them. In this instance, they may be excellent players for Bristol City, be used in part payment for Maynard and we could even still pay a percentage of their wages....

Could be feasible, £1m plus a couple of players, plus we pay some of their wages or similar, but i can't necessarrily see it.

Maynard is class and the best striker in that division - I'm surprised nobody has snapped him by now.

Would love to sign him but I think before we can bring in another striker we would have to let one or two go. The squad is only allowed to be 25 and with Helguson and Hulse to come back in along with DJ, Bothroyd and Agyemang as well as Pellicori at the club that's a lot of strikers costing lots of money. I'd hope we'd let Agyemang and Pellicori go just like we did with Clarke.
