  • The role of the Mittals now?

It certainly seemed under Flavio and Bernie that the Mittals were reluctant to spend money for obvious reasons. Now Amit is back do you think their involvement and particularly spending wise will be far more?

Reason I say this is Fernandes is worth 300-400 million pounds and I would imagine a lot of that capital is tied up in various businesses. Now if the current signings go though with wages, plus what he has paid for the club and his plans for the future is going to cost him well and truly over 100 million which is a massive part of his wealth.

So surely the Mittals are going to have to help massively with funds, which for us is a good thing as their money is infinite!

I am so glad Amit is back and you can tell from the interviews that he wants to be more and more involved this time round.

And I wonder if Ishan Saksena will come back?

I don't see The Mittals handing over ...say £ 10 m of their own money for warnock to dabble in the transfer market ..(would love to be wrong ) ....

IF NW has been given up to £ 10 m to spend before 31.8.11 then a third of it is down to the Mittals already due to the ownership split

What people need to remember is that for every £ 1 TF gives the green light to spend 33 p of it will be paid by the Mittals ...

This was also the case under the old regime !!

Looks like Saksena is already back...behind the scenes:

"But one moment encapsulated the day – indeed, QPR’s entire summer – more than any other. It was a split-second I’m not sure anyone else noticed. A moment that said more than any soundbite or photograph.

It was the moment, as Fernandes began speaking, that Bhatia made eye contact with Saksena and smiled, and his friend responded with a nod.

      That said it all really."

Hammersmith, Fernandes is in a consortium, so its not just his money.

            Exactly.
At least 2 other named partners in this, who are both worth as much as TF is. Can't recall their names. Or spell them, even if I could remember them.

One of them looked like a bigger "Tattoo" from Fantasy Island.

I think together they are all close to a billion.

Regardless of who is putting in the money from Fernandes' side I agree what is the role now of the Mittals. Surely if Fernandes' lot are prepared to put up £10m then why aren't the Mittals putting in £5m to match their percentage in the club. Maybe they are but all we've heard so far is NW saying that TF has given him a budget and not the owners which would suggest that the Mittals have.

Fans were desperate for the Mittals and Bhatia is obviously quite popular amongst fans, NW and people at the club, which is great but with a few days to go and an obvious need for some real quality now is the time to invest to ensure we aren't on the receiving end of more 4 nil thumpings.

Clearly lots of names are being mentioned and most will probably agree that the defence needs at least two signings, if not three. We need another central midfielder, some pace on the wing and ideally another striker and all would be possible with the Mittals sticking in a few million on top of what TF is putting up.

Never seemed interested in putting there money in to me. Will be interesting to see now the two jokers have gone, if they become more financially involved. I thought they would buy a few more shares, but as the second biggest shareholder lets see what he does in the coming months.

In one of the many recent interviews TF was asked about the wealth of his co-owners in the context of "doing a Man City or Chelsea" - his answer was effectively that can't happen because my wealth doesn't permit it - in other words the Mittals put in their share of a massive multi multi million pound deal and he simply can't match it with his share!
The inference is that the Mittals will support him financially but he is the one that will set realistic figures.
