Not true. He got muscled off the ball in dangerous positions on several occasions, when a simple pass was on. Neil was berating him for that yesterday. He needs to improve that side of his game because at this level you will pay dearly for that.

Having said that, he wasn't 100% fit due to lack of match fitness + this bug, so there were mitigating circumstances.

Obviously, I've seen Adel play better.
But, in my opinion anyway, he did more than enough yesterday to warrant being in the team at Wigan next Saturday.

From what i saw Adel tracked back, closed down space and even made simple passes. He also was the most fouled QPR player from what i remember however i do think he needs to work on his fianl ball / shot as it is not the samw as last year.

If you consider he had a virus like most of the team, i cant see how anyone can say that he didnt play well and that goes with the rest of the team.

The way we kept the ball during critical parts of that game, also mixed it up with the long direct ball (Swansea need to learn this as you cant be 1 dimensional) quietened down the home crowd, frustrated Everton and apart from a few chances (which every team will get at this level at home) we played and defended very well and showed why we were the top team last year.

And the bit that was missing against Everton, we scored when we were having our best spell and on top.

To a man i thought we were execptional in these circumstances yesterday and that includes the Manager and back room staff.
One for all.... and all for one

and dont forget it s Ramadan and adel is fasting during training days, he needs to lose some weight though plus that s the beginning of the league..

the main thing we need too more signings.
Im hoping that your on a wind up. We played some very good passing football yesterday, what do you want to do pass the ball out every time? We saw that doesn't work when Magilton was in charge. Do you seriously think we're the only team who uses a long ball? Nearly every team does long balls.

He's clearly unfit, didn't train at all while all the transfer talk to PSG was going on did he? I think September will be his month. He did quite well yesterday, but he looks a bit like he doesn't care, I'm sure he'll play well against the top 4 sides.

Dont get me wrong, Adel had a good second half ... yeah we made few great passes but not enough and yes we play long balls more than any other PL team... I watched the same game you did and I saw Kenny playing a fault near center field ...long ball again, I dont see that much with other clubs except in the last mins and if they lose.. as you said we played such great passes but it ended with kenny who played it long.. please rewatch the game see what I mean... we need more confidence to play forward and our guys should not try to get rid of the ball easily even our wings sometimes pass the ball outside the pitch.

that s only the start of the league I think we gonna make it better in coming games.

I think he grew into the game. We kept the ball quite well and when we did he was at the hub of it.. A few sloppy passes and pointless skill in bad areas but unlike last season and the season before, when he made mistakes he just got on with it and at least tried to track back rather than throwing his toys out the pram. Fair play to him

I think he will be a different player after the international break once Ramadan is over and he's got some fitness back! Way short of fitness at the moment, plus I think Warnock said he had had the virus that was going round this week!

Liverpool played more long balls than any other team after the first week fact. We played the right game to get a win at Everton remember they have not been beat at home since november.

We had better players than most of the championship last year this year that is not the case but i thought at times we kept the ball very well and if we had of gone for it could have got a second goal but the risk of Everton breaking and getting a goal made us go back instead of taking a shot.

On a side note - just while talking about talented young players I thought Ross barkley looks like he could be a real star. Great for England at the moment with some real quality midfielders. Wilshere, Barkley, Cleverley and Frimpong - a few others too.
Think you're right about Barkley. They did a feature on him last night with highlights of his contribution to Saturday's game.He was outstanding for a 17 year old and this morning on Talksport, they were saying he could turn out better than that other Evertonian,Rooney. He's so quick, skillful, and strong and could have been on a hat-trick against the R's.You can keep Parker and Bentley, sign up Barkley NOW,Everton need the money.
