  • S-W-P & Onuoha for 5million ?

Please be true, class players and just what we need
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I think this line kills this story.

'Former Chelsea winger Wright-Phillips has been offered £60,000 a week'

Fingers crossed. If we get thoose players in (Parker, SWP Onouha, RB, CB) I think we are a decent mid-table team.

Both would be good signings especially at the rumoured amounts... 2m for SWP and 3m for Onuoha. When you think at some of figures people have paid, especially for English players. SWP has his limitations but is a decent Premiership winger and will give us some pace plus he's not afraid to take people on, something which outside of Taarabt we are lacking. And onuoha is a quality defender at this level and young enough to keep improving.

Our wage cap goes from 25K a week to 60K in one fell swoop? Odd.

Why couldn't it? I believe Manchester City's wage cap changed a tad when that arab bought the club

Agree Fez. And both fairly young - team otherwise a bit creaky age wise. Who would have thought a month ago we would be talking about these kind of players? If you had said we were considering a £6m bid for Parker you would have been laughed at or accused of being Dave's View. Back then it was all "can we get Puncheon on loan?" and the absolute dream signing would have been Bullard (who I could still see coming BTW if Parker doesn't come off).

The bar has changed significantly, so they will understand that they need to pay the money to get these players.

Just say you pay 3 players £30k more than previous cap at approx £55k / wk, yes it's crazy money for us, but not the prem. Also do the maths, that extra investment equates to approx £4.5m / yr, which is small change if it contributes to us staying in the division and allows us to continue milking the Premier League cash cow....

My only concern is if we get players in on high wages which alienates others in thsquad and ruins the team spirit.

Re team spirit think we just have to take the chance. There is no point spending the money on ten other good honest toilers, we need a few exceptional players established in the Premier League and they will necessarily be on very big wages. Morally I think the wages of premier league players stink but if you are trying to stay up rather than change the world you have to pay them.

@60K a week, he would have to be sensational in order to avoid resentment from those on 20-25K.

Yeah i agree 100%. The owners need to be ruthless and do what's required whether it upsets a few people in the process or not. I was just making the point that's my only concern with the inevitable unbalance of wages going forward.

Can see where you are coming from, and certainly you can see Adel having a strop, but we are a club in transition. Players like Derry and Hill probably realise they are lucky to be along for the ride and this will be their last year. Others will have to prove they are Premier League players rather than very good Championship ones. At the end of the season think there will be a massive clear out, particularly if we stay up, and we will no doubt bring in several more players to replace those who haven't quite stepped up. Meanwhie its upto someone like Adel to play well enough to attract offers from other clubs and force the board to pay them more. At the moment all our players are being paid what the market dictates so don't think they have any grounds to complain personally.

Not in QPRs best interest to spend 60k a week on a player. 30k max. easy to spend other peoples money; ask any banker. need double capacity to afford those wages.

if we can get SWP on loan for year or Parker on loan that would be ok in my mind. Clyne, Bullard, another fall back, want Snodgrass ;great player and would fit our wage structure
