Reports suggest SWP is in discussions with Man City about terminating his contract. Don't understand why really as he isn't a Bullard like player in that he is still clearly an assett. Are his wages such a liability that no club is prepared to buy him? And if the contract is terminated, surely he should be "free" ("free" being a relative concept with a signing on fee and 60,000 big ones or whatever a week)? I don't think we will get him but all that makes me think differently is we do love a bargain and if there is the possibility of getting him on some kind of "free" then that is sure to appeal. Also one small point: where would he play with Bolton when they signed Eagles? Don't they both prefer playing on the right?

Onuoha, Bassong, Bertrand, Bullard, one of SWP, Gradel or Puncheon, plus Parker and/or Jenas if the deal's reasonable. Maybe keep an eye on Crouchie's situation as well..? (Wishful thinking.)
We don't really need a player like McGugan right now tbh.

I actually feel a Spurs raid will happen. Jenas was mentioned pre Fernandes and i think Parker will end up at Spurs meaning he'll be further down the pecking order and may opt to leave.
Krancjar is a superb and underused palyer who would be a great signing if it could come off.
What about Palacios who has slipped behind Huddlestone and Sandro.
Full backs are needed. Simpson sounds interesting, but can't really see Newcastle selling another first team starter as there'll be a revolt. Traore i really rate, but now Clichy has left, think Wenger would be reluctant to sell him as he will be vying for a start with Gibbs and the other as cover. AS for Walker, no chance. There may be a decent loan option from Liverpool as they had youngsters do really well at the ned of last season, and now they've signed Enrique and already have Johnson, they may be shut out a bit....

Bench is evil so we dont need them, and save money.

But we get a devil of a ref, 11 god cannot help us then, us fan can scream and cryPRIDE OF LONDON.

Stoke were supposedly negotiating for something like £18m for Crouch and Palacios, which just shows the silly sums we're up against. Have to say Palacios seems to have had a drastic loss of form in the last year, couldn't keep the ball for toffee whenever I saw him.
Agree that Arsenal letting Traore go would be unlikely after all their injuries, I rate Bertrand though and I think Chelsea would be happy to loan either him or Van Aanholt out.

Do you think there will be any other realistic competition? I still think if Spurs don't go for him Arsenal might pitch up on deadline day despite Wenger's (strictly consensual) youth orientated attitude. For Arsenal they could probably find the amount of money needed down the back of those posh seats in the Emirates dugout.
