Would you not class Everton as a successful football club? Theyre 3 owners have a combined wealth of £220mill.
Everton did not need to be made a successful club in the new money world of football. They were already established as one of (if not the) longest serving top flight clubs. They were one of the most succesful clubs in the 80s. And where have they been since? Deperatley looking for an owner - and no one is interested.

They have gone down hill from a very strong starting position. They generate far more revenue than us and only have a brilliant manager to thank for them being mediocre. We are trying to build from a pretty low starting point if we want to compete in this division, so we will require massive investment just to get to their level.

This guy has £330 million. If he is shelling out a third of that for the club - he dosn't have enough to get us into the position people think he will unless he has backers.

Many rich people buy clubs and pump very little in. Look around.

your right we are at the bottem of a very tall ladder and just got on first rung, we are coming from so far back that even the worst pl clubs are light years in front of us in terms of finance, this is why we need someone prepared to spend hundreds of mill to catch up.
just look at city much bigger club then us needed someone with no regard for cash to elevate them up years in terms of developement, if he does buy i think very quickly he will find out he cant afford it

He simply cant compete at the prem level without others, now he is a businessman and will be very aware of the way football clubs drain your bank balance. Im afraid the elite league has simply out grown a club of our size, in the nineties we struggled financially, this league is devastatingly differant to that one. Players wages being one of the most challenging aspects of all.

This is looking like Katie Price and Alex Reid's marriage, one massive publicity stunt that went all #### up, which in her case is already the case anyway.

I just hope not for our sake.

Don't think that has all The Man City money listed.

That Jeremy Peace has come in for almighty stick from WBA fans but he is running a steady old ship there, he must have local backing though.

Good point - I also think there is a lot of untapped commercial potential in the club that the current owners haven't got anywhere near unlocking due to their preoccupation with the top end and the "boutique"
