I don't see the problem with having a player who can make something from nothing in the side. Bullard is a better option than any of our other signings so far so hopefully this comes off because we need an Ainsworth type player in our side.

Has to be better than Faurlin who looked out of his depth saturday, and at the moment a better option than Adel as well, whom i'm not sure is up for the fight !!!

Listen im all for an over reaction, but writing off Faurlin (one of the most reliable players from last season) after his first game at this level is a bit extreme. Espcially if you think injury prone Bullard will perform better.

Agree Jim and it is too early to write him off after 1 game however he was one of the players I did put a very large ? to. I just hope he proves me wrong as agree with the posters point as he looked extremely poor against Bolton who r a midtable side.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Bullards ability has never been in question. It's his longevity which is the problem.A fit Bullard for 38 games a season, would mean a start for any premiership club.

Faurlin looked very nervous on Saturday and i assume to be expected.I'm pretty sure in time, he will come through...but do we have time? Maybe having Bullard and Faurlin could be a good thing as they could alternate and take pressure away from Faurlin.

The other problem we have, is that Warnock built a team to win the Championship with Championship players.Derry and Hill were fantastic last season but (IMO) i think they are not equipped to play in the premier league.

We have not really addressed the team/squad's problems this season..but not really Warnocks fault.

Bothroyd and DJ will be good signings, but, ironically, having had such a great defence last year, i feel it will be torn apart this year.

Having said that...only one game and w haven't seen Drobda Torress Defoe Rooney Sergio A Silva Van Persie Walcott against our back four yet...No worries

I liked what you said about takeing some pressure off Faurlin. This is where Bullard fits in. In a way, I would guess Taraabt feel´s the same(pressure) as well. And Indeed, he can learn a lot from Bullard´s ability to pass the ball when needed.

I'm happy with that, just hope they don't muck about this time getting the deal done.

I was at the game on Saturday and am happy to put my two pennies worth in. Faurlin was one of our worse players at the weekend. I agree it was the first game of the season BUT if you can't get yourself up for that match then it doesn't bode well. I'm hoping it was a blip but in this division if you don't hit the ground running then you won't survive. Yeah Swansea lost 4-0 too so we weren't the only one but hang on we played Bolton at home and they played Man City away!

Yeah Faurlin who was quality for us last season, has only been in England for two years and it's his first game in the premiership. He will flop just because we got tonked by Bolton. Fitz Hall and Bradley back off Orr were just as bad.

Nature of the fans these days i'm afraid.
The trouble is, Faurlin is still young and still learning the game and i for one think he will become a great player for us.Saturday was a definate...welcome to the big league for him and many others.Faurlin, I feel, will rise to challenge, were as some others will be swimming without armbands.

That said, hardly their fault they are playing...as we have no better !!
