If you are a 10 year old growing up in North / West London I would suggest firstly it's your family that influences who you support. I don't think a 10 year old in a family of Spurs fans would support Arsenal because they have a nicer stadium. The other way a 10 year old will pick a club if there family aren't massively into football would be by whose doing well at the time, and throuh watching SKY or MOTD, not because of the stadium.
I take your point, but have we not also become successful on the pitch with promotion? So why have our attendances stagnated and Swansea's demand doubled? I know admission manipulation by the club is a big factor, but if we had a new stadium, I would of expected greater demand.

Also, there are different degrees of 'fan', from the fanatic that goes to every game, to those that go to only 1 or 2 during the season. Many never go due to distance etc., I would guess the number of followers in the UK to be 10 x our capacity.

We have become more successful but I know I keep saying it the competition of other clubs has impacted on us. Last season 3 sides in the Champions League were within a 20 mile radius of us. Kids pick up on that if they aren't already in a family who support someone else. With all due respect to our sheep adoring friends what else is there to do in Swansea??

Definitely agree about the different degree of fans, but most people have other commitments that means whether we were playing in a spanking new stadium or at Loftus Rd going more regularly may not be an option

        • To answer the op's question ie Swansea comparison...

Swansea not the best comparison to make. They did not pay for the stadium to be built, nor have they paid any rent for it since they took occupation. We would not be in that position.

          • You couldn't build a stadium for that price in London they built on a flat bit of land that cost fk all, we also have a stadium in an area with no space to build around , why do you think spurs so desperate for the olympic stadium ? We would have to relocate miles away from le before we could even consider it, then everyone would moan about where we move to

And I'd we were to build a 30k stadium we would still have to
Charge loads as we would have to pay for the building which as discussed is prohibitive,

And finally we wouldn't fill it fk me 4 sell outs last year in our beat season for 20years , even when last in prem we were getting 15/16 k

And let's be honest we get relegated we will back o the 14.5 k and therefore playing in a souless stadium
            As we have seen
            When
Visiting the cove try's the Leicesters etc

            • We have to build a waiting list for season tickets to justify any new stadium just like Arsy have been doing for years. Failing that rebuild LR into a small luxury ground for the rich !
