100 people buy a seat at 20 pound = 2000 50 buy 1 pound burger and 2 pound program = ,2150 pound
150 people buy a seat at 15 pound = 2,250 75 buy 1 pound burger and 2 pound program
= pound 2475
simple maths of increase by capacity by 25 percent and reduce tickets by 25 percent to make this more atrative ie bums on seats,
many times i have wanted refreshments at loftus road but the que stops you from the effort so this needs to improve plus poor facilities so i am with Dazzer on this,
also reading have a hotel and pub attached that bring in extra revenue !!!
Sorry - it does not work like that at all and people running football know that.
Where on earth did you get a 50% increase in attendance through a 25% decrease in price. Never happened anywhere in the world. Not even remotely close.
In fact do you remember when we had tickets 25% lower then they are now....I do. We got 14k every home game. I remember when they were 50% lower. We got 14k every home game. Do you want me to go on?
And to describe your work as simple maths!
Matty - how can you have facial hair like that if you are only 20 - looks like 10 years of cultivation.
you say it will never recoup short term ,it has to be long term ,then in the next sentence you say it will pay for itself very very quickly
Sorry - I thought it was obvious.
You are literally next to Heathrow Airport with fantastic local transport links via road, rail and tube. The world's busiest transportation hub airport, not co-incidentally also the busiest and most profitable global market for conferencing facilities with a huge local economy in servicing the airport.
A naming rights deal for a stadium complex in that location would pull in conservatively (even in today's markets) a minimum of £75m. Yes, it would also attract a new set of supporters. You'd look to market a few thousand of those seats as Founder member debenture seating over a 10 year period. Hotel could be sold to Hilton, Holiday Inn, Jury's etc etc...
Nothing wrong with attracting new fans - don't really understand the mentality of those who never wish to see us leave Loftus Road and condemn us to life of zero ambition. Blinkers are for racehorses and kids with lazy eyes.
I can't see any movement on the horizon but it is a fact that the abysmal experience LR offers does stop us gaining any new fans. Will be a problem 10 years down the track if we fall back to the Championship or League 1
The sort of costs involved in pursuing such a project are astronomical and it is laughable reading threads like this comparing us to the likes of Swansea. I'm pretty convinced we will playing at LR for the foreseeable future, so rather than moan about it, embrace it, its a fantastic stadium full off proper football fans.
I agree, unfortunately it will probably be a long time before change happens, cause it's not financially viable.
Meanwhile, due to our titchy capacity, and lack of ambition to take us back to the status we had 30 years ago, we must therefore accept that we are batting well above our station, and clearly don't belong in the PL. We're probably just a mid table championship side that got lucky.
Well, I'm not happy with that, I want more ambition. I hate how this great club has and been overtaken by the likes of Wigan, Swansea, Brighton, etc.
Don't agree at all with those who say we won't fill a bigger stadium. You just have to look at clubs with a similar fan base or smaller than ours who have traditionally got much smaller crowds or similar in their old staiums....Swansea, Reading, Brighton, Coventry, Southampton etc etc all with bigger average crowds than us since building their brand new sparkly stadiums. We have the pull of the premier league as well. Its utter nonsense to suggest we couldn't fill a 20k plus stadium, we could easily. We don't fill LR because the facilities are crap, the legroom too small, too many restricted views and the prices too unrealistic for the experience.

Could not agree more. The potential if we moved towards Heathrow is massive.
if we stay up and want to push on a move is essential.Yes LR is our home but so have 12 odd other places been. When you go to the old Traffords the Bridge even you see what a diffrent world it is.Club shops are huge, bars ,catering are geared up to serve good quality ,quick to get as much cash in as poss.We are just not in the same league on /off the field as a lot of the top 2 div clubs now.**** roots ,club needs to survive.
Sorry if you don't like hearing other viewpoints that differ from your own. It's an opinion.
I'm still pissing myself at the thought of building a new stadium, with hotel complex, training facilities, shopping centre a 5 min drive from the M40/M25 intersection.
I live out this way......Have you seen it around here, every house, shop, billboard has a poster saying 'No to HS2'...maybe your land economics, geography and financial projections didn't extend that far from Essex but I have a slight hunch your pie in the sky idea might be met with slight local opposition.

No one wants planes flying 24/7 overhead.the odd bottle and Foolham fan though shouldnt disturb.

Build it and they will come
Are you joking about Coventry? The stadium is empty every match. Like Bolton, Wigan and others.
The teams you mentioned that it has worked for are the ones where they are the only club in the city. It helps.
we are in a bit of a unique situation..in that we have a limited capacity..but don't have room to expand..and we are located in an area where land prices are sky high...
so,in short,we need a bigger stadium..but don't have the money to build one
comparing us to Swansea is tircky..yes,they dont have as many footbnall teams down there to compete with..but look at the population of South Wales compared to London and the South East..ok,we have more clubs to compete with, but a bigger population,so lets say one cancels out the other(though i do feel there is plenty of floating supporter's to go round for all clubs in London)plus, don't forget, south Wales is Rugby country..so its not been easy for Swansea but they have done it
We need to find the next generation of fans..more and more kids now are grwoing up supporting Chelsea/Arsenal/Man U..even if their parents don't..but a lot pf those parents can't afford/and or can't get into the Emirates/Stamford Bridge..but they still want to sample a game..where do they look?well,if we had a larger stadium/and or lower prices.we'd snag 'em..Fulham have learnt this lesson well.
My mate has a season ticket at LR,but his kids did support Chelsea..only by bringing them to LR now and again(when he could either afford it or get tickets)has he managed to slowly turn them into QPR fans...this is now going to get tougher..
I'm not saying we need a 40k STADIUM...optimum capacity(28k)with optimum prices,whatever that would be)is ideal..but of course,money is the stumbling block
All clubs have the ablilty to grow...Reading and Charlton are good examples...even when they got relegated, their average attendances were generally higher than the seasons before promotion th the Prem League...supporter retention was quite high(Norwich and Derby are the prime examples of this)Fans don't demand top flight football, they just want value for money...and decent facilities..if you offer that..fans will still come
If we had the room to expand, surely we would have...i know we can match Fulham..there's no way we wouldnt average 25k in this league if we had the pricing structure and the stadium....and i'm sure that even if we went back down, that wouldnt drop that much(our support didnt dip that much last time we were relegated, even down in the old 2nd Div)
Unfortunately we have neither the money or room to expand...so we are stuck in limbo...what will happen?well,in the future, those kids who have parents who are QPR fans now but support Chelsea, will grow up and have kids of their own,and who will their kids support?Chelsea...
one last point,a few years ago,i was working with a load of Brazilains/Portugese,and a few Romanians..they all loved their footy..i told them about QPR..got them some shirts..they had never heard of us(even though they lived in NW London)so a few them begged me to get them tictets..but i couldn't,at that time, the home area's were more or less sold out..an opportunity lost
