  • Tonight has certainly shown........

that we just need to be better than 3 other teams to stay up.

Swansea don't scare me. I think we are better than Norwich.

We need to win our mini league at the bottom. It can be done.

    10 wins and 10 draws. Job done:yush:
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

I wouldn't get excited based on tonight. They lost 4-0 away to Man City. We got dome the same at home...to Bolton.

I think we'll improve, but to base your lack of worry on tonight, after our result on Saturday is a little strange in comparison.
      Your mum would love me...

IMO, we will get 3 pts at Wigan. I think, over the course of the season, we will pick up 8 wins and 10 draws... will be very tight at the bottom!!

Or at least get more points than 3 teams!

Er... Won't be long before someone comes on here listing all our and our rivals remaining games and predicting the scores for each one and where we'll end up. That happened on a weekly basis last season (from about January.)

                    FFS It's only August.

                      hmmmm... not so sure.

swansea were difficult to beat at their place last season - wouldn't be that shocked if the same happens again. maybe they won't win too many on home turf, but i don't expect, say, bolton to bang four past them there either.

i'm still worried. true, we had no luck on saturday. at the mo, i'd just like a couple of points on the board (draws will do to build some confidence) and the team to acclimatise quickly.

Funnily enough I just did the BBC predictor thingy and we ended up as Champions! Stuffed Chel**8 by a cricket score both times, who incidentally beat Derby's worst ever points total by 11 points!

In all seriousness though, at times I thought that Swansea played very well and one thing that they were keen on doing, which we weren't for the most part is ball retention. Warnock has to get the team passing from the back and this starts from Kenny.

It's true that we need to beat the teams around us, but you cannot compare losing 4-0 away to City with being beaten by the same score at home to one of the weaker teams in the league. Bolton are bottom half - no doubt. Probably bottom 6/7, so therfore a rival.

10 wins....? I think we will get 5 at home this season. We are not going to win 5 away.

We can stay up, but only if things change drastically. Current team is way off.

Beating Wigan would be great for us.

                            .
. I think we can get 3 away wins this year plus we will be able to grind out a fair few draws i think. As you say though, this is providing we make additons ASAP, especially defensivley. IMO, going forward we have more than enough class to beat the fellow 4/5/6 struggling sides, but we need 3 more defenders I think (2 fullbacks and a centre back) for us to be able to be confident of PL survival.

All hingeing on this takeover ...

And there is the problem. We are always waiting for the Knight in Shining Armour. We usually end up with the village idiot in a clown outfit.
