Just curious...
I'm not afraid to say that if I would of made half as many dreadful errors and mistakes in my job as GP then I would of been looking for a new job years ago, possibly even a career change! We are a laughing stock in the media and always will be with Tango and him at the club. If new owners do come in then they would be crazy to keep him on in any form of capacity other than just as an advisor for a small period of time. However I doubt if Tony or Amit will need any advising from him as they could afford to employ someone competient. If a takeover happens then we need a new dawn at the club. Just thought you might like my opinion on this topic..
Tbf, how does being abroad and struggling for some cash mean you cant have a convo with GP?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

      a) its called Skype.

Thanks to a QPR fan (who i dont know) I have that ability..to call the UK and to call people here asking for work. And rather than be all suicidal I do like to communicate with "home" as often as possible to keep me sane if thats ok?

      b)

As i said, what happens to GP, happens to him. Not excusing any mistakes, he's achieved something and something that I personally believe should earn respect. Any outsider to the club would probably cut an arm or leg off to have him as a chairman based on where he's taken us from to where we're at. And, taking blinkers off..thats a cold hard fact. Hate him, dont hate him, dont give a monkeys...where we are under him is further than where we have been under anyone else for a decade and a half.

The bloke is like marmite. But, like marmite, like it or hate it..its succesful

I think they're jumping the gun to an extent.

PR wise we have successful sports men, global players, who are unliked. Bernie probably doesnt give a monkeys, BUT, i expect PR has as much to do with all of this, and announcements etc etc as anything else does.

Albeit, it will be difficult to spin this...no doubt the gags on Dowie, Sousa, Magilton etc end when they leave the gaff. Could be a PR nightmare if not controlled properly I presume?

I agree. It was much nicer when Devlin and co where giving jobs to the boys (me included to an extent) and running us so efficiently.

Lets go back to third tier footy ASAP.

                      • I'm pretty sure that, even if the finalising of any takeover is a week or two away, Mr. Fernandes & the Mittals will put up some dough ahead of the paperwork, in order to bring in any targets before the window slams shut.

                        .
                        Be nice to Minty

                          • I just heard from a previously untapped source - so with a huge pinch of salt - and no I am not an ITK wannabe - that the Tango man has resigned from the Board.

IF and that's a big IF true, it would make sense as this would be the first step in any successful take over.

So I really do hope this is true and not a wind up.

Firstly Scott sorry if my last post seemed a bit rude or like a dig at you fella didn't mean it in the tone.

Regarding GP I know he's hearts in the right place and that he does care about QPR, but sometimes is life if you care so much you'll walk away knowing somethings gone on to bigger and better things and that will be the case if the takeover goes through. All he needs to do is the right thing!

Been debating posting this but well, I don't think this betrays any trust or anything so bowlocks to it. I have spoken to GP. Genuinely, what he said. Was that if the new owners want him, in whatever capacity, then he's happy. If they don't, then that is their choice and as long as this is good for QPR then he'll be happy. On a selfish note he said that he's been at QPR through a heck of a lot, he promised we'd never go into administration and we didn't. He has served as a Premier League chairman, if only for a week. If he goes tomorrow and Amit and Tony are running the shop, we are light years better off from when BP and co first took him on. After all that has happened, QPR will be a massive part of his life, and although he has made mistakes along the way, nothing was ever done out of malice or for self worth but him trying to do what was right. Like him or loathe him, we've gone from being unable to pay bills to being in the Premier League. He's done a lot wrong but the end result?? He must have done a lot right. We're in the biggest football league on this planet.

I'd add that he isnt part of any negotiations. And, like him or not, his family are all QPR fans now.

Cant really disagree with anything he said to me. I'd add that he didn't say anything he shouldn't have said and was more concerned about my situ than talking about QPR.
I agree that GP has never done anything to hurt the club out of malice and yes I appreciate that certainly in terms of league position we are much better off now than when became involved with the club. All that said and done there are a few facts that need to be taken into account before we hail him as some kind of hero.

1.) The club's debt has increased massively to the point where without our sugar daddy chairmen we would be into administration in a heartbeat.

2.) More than half of our squad (including many players who will never kick a ball in anger for QPR again) are on over inflated wages due to contracts drawn up by GP. These are players so grossly overpaid that no other club on the planet will touch them and as such they will see out their contracts in our reserves.

3.) The club has become a laughing stock in the media due to the antics of GP and his cronies. We used to be a respected family club who most fans accross the country had a soft spot for.

4.) The fan's are as alienated from the club and it's employees as I have known in 20 years as a fan (and yes I do remember the Chris Wright era). Whilst I do not necesarily hold GP personally responsible for this, he has stood by and said nothing while Tango and Cash have repeatedly treated loyal fans with utter contempt.

Now Scott I appreciate that you and GP are buddies but even you must see that the club needs a new direction. I cannot argue with your point about the club being higher up the table than when GP took over, but at what cost? How many QPR fans do you know that can say they are genuinely happy about the club at present?

GP it's time to do one and take your over sized umpa loompa and the circus midget with you!!!
