  • my 'morning after' non knee jerk assement of yesterday!!!

thought id digest events and sleep on it before offering my thoughts on yesterday!!..........arrived at midday and for me there just wasnt the pizzaz and vibe that shone through at our last three or four home games last season......the atmosphere before kick off was ok and boltons pathetic away following for a premiership club was laughable...........however 15 years from our last top flight game too see so many empty home seats for me puts to bed some peoples talk of 25000+ stadiums........yes prices are extortionatley high/holiday season blar blar blar.......but barely 15k...........comon!!!............back to on the pitch matters...........great opening gusto and the 'offside' goal wouldve been a magnificent tonic but bolton gradually squeezed us further back and despite other than donkey kong davies trickery in fooling refs into free kicks showed very little in our box.......dyer....well my thoughts on his signing are well known........a backfired gamble imho.........orr's introduction filled me with despair and was proved right............he was terrible and a lower championship level player at best.......gabbidon/hall i thought started ok with a if in doubt get it out policy which seemed to work.....paddy seemed as assured as ever between the sticks....hill whilst not as bad as orr is slower than a sedated sloth and will not do im afraid.his three game automatic ban could be a blessing in disguise if we replace him quickly........onto midfield.....shaun derry for me our best player even though 7/10 top marks...chased/harried/intercepted.wish we had more like him.........fraulin the odd touch/pass but needs time to adjust at this level but im hoping........tommy smith for me is never gonna be a world beater but is a lovely footballer........mr tarrabt........that psg 'offer' may come back to haunt us if yesterday is anything to go by.....lost good positions at least four times trying to show pony too much..........you wont get away with it in this league old chap..........dj campbell...how small is he????.........didnt fill me with hope on that performance if im honest..............jay bothroyd.......looks classy and im sure will be good for us given the right service and support..............overall i think 4-0 very harsh but as we've been banging on about all summer....lasts years 'impregnable' defence was more often than not lucky and saved by paddy k's brilliance..................fans streaming out at three nil summed up some 'jonny come lateleys' attitudes and the sight of briatore running for the exits summed him up as a man..........we were given a bloody nose by a bigger kid on our first day at a bigger school...........that nose will be bloodied many times more before we can fight back i believe!!

Good sum up, why were we trying to put balls in the air to DJ at his height, it was obvious he wasnt going to get them. He can score goals in the prem as he proved last year, but just take a look at how Blackpool played and when balls were put through to him they were on the ground, it ain't rocket science is it surely our players can see that.

decent summary - we just don't have a team that will compete - we will win about 5 home games this season unless we sign some players.

Anyone that tells me Dyer was good business as he is pay to play - clearly doesn't understand that pay to play in the prem still means a massive basic salary - do people really think he gets £0 every month he doesn't play?

I still beleive Adel DOES have the talent for the Prem - the problem is his attitude. If I was NW I would give him an ultimatum - he was a disgrace yesterday - played for himself only - turned back when he had really decent passes on....and I have always been his biggest supporter.

Last season we won by playing the ball on the deck and by keeping the ball. Yesterday it was like watching England - high balls, desperate defending second half (just boot it away/off) and we gave the ball away far too often. A big kick up the ar*e for NW and the team, and probably just what we needed to be honest.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

have too agree..we needed that to get us off our deluded position that we are a good team...
We were never going to win against a team that makes a living out of eating teams like us and spitting them out.....

We're in with the big boys and the clock is ticking !!
