  • Too Much Negativity

Ok we got a 4 nil tonking. The scoreline was much worse than we deserved. I didn't go but watched it on a live feed on the net. For 45 minutes we were the better team no doubt. We should have been 2 nil up but the reality is in this division you have to take your chances. 45 minutes are up and were 0-0 and ironically we get caught by a sucker punch scored in stoppaged time that was added onto the injury to Dyer. We can't argue about the goal. No goalie in the world would have stopped that.

Having watched the game again on sky sports this evening my biggest complaint is how we came out for the second half. I expected us to be right up for it but instead it was like a different team came out for the second half. All the confidence had gone and from the start of the second half we looked a yard off the pace. You could see a goal was coming for Bolton but if we could have ridden out that period im sure we would have come back stronger. Hey were in with the elite now theres gonna be times when were pushed back and hanging on but the Gabbidon OG just seemed to kill us. The confidence just drained from the team. Then we concede another majorly unlucky goal with the deflection and from then on i thought were gonna concede 6 or 7. We looked shocking at the back and they seemed to have men everywhere going forward. They scored another quality goal with the 4th and In the end i was quite happy it was only 4. I thought we'd win this 2-1 and for the first 45 minutes i felt confident. But it was alarming how our confidence just drained away in the second half.

4-0 to Bolton was the last score i expected and having watched the game again they aint no better than us. In the second half our confidence crumbled and theirs grew ten fold. We proved in the first half we can match some of the teams in this division but we now have a very steep learning curve that we have to learn very quickly. We felt sorry for ourselves in the second half and this is something we have to eradicate very quickly. There is no room for sentiment in this league and if we concede a goal in future having been the better team its no use feeling sorry for ourselves we have to get back out there and take the game by the scruff of the neck and wrestle it back in our favour. I expected a few tonkings from the likes of Arsenal, Man Ure etc but not to Bolton but i think this will give us the kick up the @rse we need.

It's a long time since i've been this depressed on a saturday evening but hey this is gonna be a very long hard season. I agree with some other posters that Taarbs looked a stone over weight and i also don't think we looked fully match fit. On the plus side for all the Dezza knockers he was our best player AGAIN!!! Bolton might be now top of the league and were bottom but in 6 games time they will be below us mark my words. And as for Everton. We have a good record there recently. Remember winning 5-1 there with sir Les scoring 4 if im not mistaken? I will be there and im confident we will take something back with us and maybe all 3 points. Lets see then what all the doom and gloom merchants have to say. This is a long, long season and we are still adjusting. I couldnt care if we lost 10-0 for the first 3 games and then battled to stay up. Were full of pessimism at the moment but just look back to Blackpools dream start last year. Hulls dream start the year before. Burnley beating Man Ure the other season and yet all 3 went down. The first game means f*** all. The final table means everything so lets get behind our team as we know its gonna be hard but this is a marathon not a sprint. Warnock is no mug and he will have the players fired up u can bet on that. Everton 1 QPR 3. Happy days again

Well said mate and i agree. The only thing i can say is i think the games against the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland etc are going to be our hardest...
These are teams that have made a sustained living out of survivng in the Premiership at the expense of others. they are hard to beat, Physical and take thier (limited) chances when they get them. they are clinical.
We'll nick a few points against the big boy, because we dont really believe we can beat them and the players may relax and have good games......
I think Everton away willl be a big game for us and i pray for NW sake we get some sort of result. I'd happily take a point from that game right now.
    I'm not negative, just a realist ......

we're in with the big boys now and the clock is ticking.....we need to get over last season and play like we did in the first half...hopefully we'll do just enough...

i'd happily take 4th from bottom is it was offered now. Other will disagree but survival has to be our key this season...IMHO..?

The thing for me is that we were at home and playing Bolton a team that will be nearer the bottom than the top, a team weaker than they had last season but still managed to hammer us 4. I know it was not a 4-0 game and we were the better team 1st half, but I expected a win yesterday a draw a worst. If we defend like that at Everton it could be double figures and we have no natural left back to come in and bradley orr at right back
Gerry Francis the greatest all round player to come from these shores:super_man:

We didn't deserve to lose 4-0 ,I think 2-0 would have been fairer but it's a bit silly arguing about how unlucky we were when we got beaten 4-0 at home, simple as

you having a laugh? they were miles better than us as the 4 -0 tonking goes to prove...faster, sharper and with better players nearly all over the pitch. Looked like what it was....a prem team against a championship team simple as.
