  • Would QPR really spend 3.5 million on an unknown

There is something that doesn't feel right about this DEAL ,I cannot believe for one minute that FB would release 3.5 million for a player that plys his trade in the 2nd league of Argentinan football.

He is 22 so he would have been spotted before and having the experience that we have had with the wonder kids from Italy I wonder why they would risk 3.5 million.

Also by doing this they are saying we havr taken the lock off the purse and would damage our chance of future aquisitions at an an appropriate price for a player as we will have our moneybags tag back again.

I dont think the leopard has changed its spots I think we are being sold a bit of "spin" to enhance ticket sales and make the DEAL sexier than it actually is. My guess is there are all sorts of add-ons are in the DEAL and would include a promotion payment.

I know you think I am a synical sod but this I believe is the reality.

I think you are right Cowboy

the official site says "the deal is worth 3.5m" not the transfer fee is 3.5m much like the lotto deal is "worth 20m" but we have actually only been paid 11524.50 so far (allegedly)

I don't think lotto have paid us anything. Just free kits and training wear probably!

As it goes i'm pretty sure that it is a 3.5million transfer fee (albeit as most deals are in stages)

£11,524.50 is an insult and I find it unbelievable that QPR would have agreed such a deal.

That can't be all that QPR have received from Lotto.

But I do agree that there's no way FB has sanctioned a £3.5M for Faurlin.

Afterall, FB refused to pay £2M for Watson a proven CCC player who is now in the Prem with Wigan.

Previously, he wouldn't pay £1.5M for Ebanks-Blake to buy him from Plymouth and it unless JM doesn't want him, he wasn't willing to bid £2M for Simon Cox or even worse, Ched Evans because the price is around £2.5M.

So to suggest that QPR have paid £3.5M for a young player from the 2nd tier of Argentinian football is a bit far fetched.

I think the true figure is about £1.5M with the rest based on apps and QPR winning promotion.

if it was a 3.5 m transfer fee it would have been announced as a record breaking fee

3.5m is mental money for a lad from the argintine 2nd division must be much less than that with clauses as others have mentioned

i reckon the final clause is if he scores the winner in the euro championship final for us THEN they get the 3.5M

I'm not so cynical as the above posters, but it does surprise me we have not advertised it has a record signing. If a deal is worth 3.5 million, that ultimately thats what it is worth. I just wish, just to cement it we go right here is 4 million for a top striker, then all of us can move forward.

I would not go so far, as to say champions league goal would mean 3.5 million but some of it maybe on appearances? You have to remember last season, when we got Ledesma we did NOT announce it "deal worth 2 and 3 quarter of a million pounds", we were told that would be optional at end of the season.

I would rather not be misled if this is not true, but it does seem that the club cannot win.

Don't spend and they get accused of being cheapskates, spend and it must be suspicious or misleading, it does seem to be the more negative ( they will say realisitic) posters who take that line. Only an observation.

Some people are never happy if any other of our rivals in the CCC announced this signing would there supporters respond in this way....off course not.

Some people are never happy the board are now accused of spin because they have used the word 'deal' instead of 'fee'. We have posters suggesting money laundering, have called this signing pointless, have suggested the money could have been better spent, deem the new young argie signing unfit to handle the CCC without even seeing him play and no doubt there will be a few more astonishing assumptions being made by the end of the week.

Does make me wonder whether we have the sort of supporters who would cut of their own noses to spite their face. Once again despite all the positives to come out of making such a signing some of our supporters carry on trying to run this great club into the ground and won't be happy until they have.

Why would they have this complete about turn from their normal type of dealing we are talking about astute business men not some well intentioned supporter turned chairman ie Chris Wright. My cynicism is borne from the fact that in this instance they have strayed so far from the path of their normal pattern of buying then it must cause a raised eyebrow.

Unless this is evidence of a revised strategy of course in either case the truth will out over the next few weeks

Noticed you covered your #### with your last comment there.

Maybe you should wait until August before making any more assumptions, I haven't once questioned this transfer where as you have. Classic case of glass half full / empty or positive / negative poster.

You are questioning the transfer because you are looking for a reason to have a dig at the board whether you realise it or not.
