  • Brightons new ground!

Looks absolutely brilliant. Just shows how bad Loftus Road is. For me I think its vital we look to build a new ground in the next 5/10 years for the growth of the club.

Surely if we stay up its something the club has got to look into?

Saw Brighton's ground while it was being built -- it's sunk in the ground due to local planning regulations affecting the area, and its design is really quite attractive -- not the standard meccano kit stadia which have flooded our landscape in the past 20 years or so.

In the away end, they put up posters and videos of the away team to make away fans feel at home -- I'd like that if we were visiting, but wouldn't want us to do that at LR -- we don't want the away team and their fans to feel welcome!!!

I love Loftus Road, if we moved i'd like a bigger version of Loftus Road or just don't move
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Loftus Road isn't big enough to sustain a Premiership club. Its as simple as that.

Take off the rose tinted specs people.

LR is outdated and cannot cope with a full house.Toilets and kiosks can't handle a full house and the seats and legroom are a joke.Don't get this problem at many other Championship grounds, never mind Prem ones.

LR is a sh1thole we have a romantic attachment to. I would be happy to stay if we had rich benefactors pumping in the cash. Otherwsie there is no point leaving as we will never have the support to survive as a Prem club, competitively, based on matchday turnover.

Was there yesterday. Fantastic ground and atmosphere. Would love us to have something like that. Difference is their owners have supported the club for generations and just paid 110m for it.

Had a chat with a former Rs legend in bar. Says Briatore didn't even realise he was buying a football club until after deal went through. Said tongue in cheek but would explain a few things! Nothing we don't already know but Warnock has been asking for transfer funds all summer and been refused.

Boavista's my favourite -- blue and white rather than black and white, of course.

dont worry swanley when i visit there in october(if i get a tkt!!) i`ll make myself feel at home without the help of posters & videos

There main stand the 3 tier looks superb but not so sure about the ends behind both goals.very small and could have done better IMO.

You normally build a new ground for a reason, which are mainly
                            A capacity eg arsenal
B ground is in such a poor state eg Brighton
C Local council pumps in the funds eg Hull
                            D. We move to tap in on new markets (eg spurs wanting to move to Olympic stadium)

Cannot see any of the above applying to us.

                            A. We hardly sell out our current ground, Bolton game isn't even sold out
                            B. Facilities are not great but it's no dump and on the whole you get great views
                            C. Local council has 3 premiership clubs and wouldn't even allow a parade.
                            D. Our fan base is traditionally very tribal in the sense it's mainly made up of west londoners (whether they still live in the area or moved out). I don't think the club has pulling power of say a spurs to bring in a new Market of fans especially considering the big clubs that border us.
I think the club has other priorities rather than a stadium. Build up our team, try to keep ourselves in the premiership, control wages and maybe get revenue streams from outside the uk assisted my the contacts of our owners.

And what exactly did we win BEFORE we went there?
Personally, at LR, I've seen 4 promotions, including 2 champions' trophies; league runners-up; several years as top division high-flyers, including spells in the UEFA cup, and being London's top league team; and witnessed the skills of the likes of Marsh, Bowles and now Taarabt.
Moving will be inevitable at some stage, but I will be taking 43 years of largely great memories.
