Do we believe that we have gone about strengthening our squad the right way ....

Is giving Aygemang, Ramage, shittu etc new contracts the way forward...

Don't wholly disagree with the freebie signings along with DJ for a relative paltry sum, but is that really what we should really be aiming for with our supposed 'owner's' combined wealth ...

That said I am quite happy with those signings and just because they're free doesn't necessarily make them poor players...

Just feel that they could have done a lot more (yes i know that sounds like a stuck record) ...

We are still woefully short of wing backs (in fact we don't have any) and as much as i like Hill and Orr - do we honestly believe they will be up to the mark in the prem ... Yes i know we questioned Hill and others before the start of the last campaign

With regard to Centre backs (Gabbidon aside if he can stay fit and to an extent Hall), i believe that we have a surplus of average players - Goorks, Shittu, Connolly, Ramage, .. etc

The squad does need more strengthening, but in fairness the window is still open ... More players are most definitely needed IMO ....

Our owners intentions will become more evident in this coming couple of weeks me thinks ....

If Manchester United and Barcelona think their squads need strengthening then of course our does. Of course I think it does as well. However the problem we have is that those who hold the purse strings aren't prepared to support Warnock any further than they have.

I think we need to see just how able/unable this squad is and see what the reaction from FB/BE is after the first couple of matches.

I would agree with Shittu and Agyemang, Ramage would be ok as a centre back imo, do you think the bottom 6/7 teams in the prem are that far away with what we were playing last year? The top 6/7 championship teams and the bottom group in the prem are very similar.

Contracts: IMO, Shittu is well worth a contract in the PL, especially when there's no transfer fee involved. Dave, i wouldnt have given 1 too personally, and as for Ramage, well tbh I used to slate him abit at RB but when he slotted into CB he hasnt too bad, wouldnt mind him at all as a squad player.

Centrebacks: For a club that is purely fighting for survival, I think having the choice of Hall, Gabbidon, Gorkss, Connolly, Shittu and Ramage is ok. On paper they dont set the world alight, but just look at our defensive record last year, 32 goals conceded and 25 clean sheets, superb record. Warnock is brilliant and making his sides solid and i have totally faith he will do the same again next season. Yes, the likes of Drogba, Torres, Rooney etc will probably run riot against us, but so long as we hold our own against the bottom half sides we'll be OK.

Wingbacks: Totally agree, defiantley need at least 1. Such a shame we missed out on Naughton. Hill isnt a wingback and, he was superb last eyar and has earnt his chance, but i have slight doubts over how reliable he'll be next year tbh. Orr i dont think is as bad as everybody makes out, i think it is purely beacuse we were lucky enough to have Walker for a while, so when he went everybody was comparing Orr to him and in comparison he does look pony tbf but thats more down to Walker being sh*t hot than Orr being poo!

Attacking wise I think we are fine. With Adel, Faurlin, Smith, Dyer, Bothroyd and DJ to chose from, plus maybe Puncheon (whom I dont know much about so cant comment but his last seasons stats look impressive to me) we have plenty of options going forward. Maybe we could do with cover/competition for Derry, but I trust Warnock will have somebody in before the season starts, Im sure he said in a interveiw recently he wants 2 or 3 more faces including a Winger and midfielder.

        So, in Warnock we Trust
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

DJ aside, anyone who thinks Warnock will be able to bring in more quality before the start of the season (as opposed to championship level players) is kidding themselves given the current ownership.

When was Agyemang given another contract? That never happened.

But i do agree at centre back we have enough options - we currently have 6, so could even do with shipping 1 out really. Although saying that, Ramage, Gabbidon and Connolly are all versatile so maybe they will be the back up full backs.

However, i do think we need a couple of proper full backs to come into the starting XI. That is our major weak point with little or no pace there at all.

Midfield we have plenty of options, and if Puncheon signs then we will be fine.

Striker wise i think Hulse and Agyemang should be shipped out and replaced. But that wont happen for obvious reasons.

So imo we need: 1 LB, 1 RB, 1 Winger, 1 ST.

But im not holding out for that!

Agyemang has not been given a new contract...thankfully.

I think he is still on his original 4 year deal.

Would say that this is probably one of the worst deals GP has ever overseen....must be the longest most expensive contract for the least return in QPR history.

Would think that 7 of our last 7 managers would've got rid of him if they could have done. No other club would pay the money. He has basic sat on the contract. And who could blame him...isn't it about 20,000 per week?

Starting to shape up nicely but get a few defenders in, another defensive midefield and we should be ready for the new season
