Don't think he was ready for his Birmingham move for personal reasons of his not footballing & I know this as fact & from the horses mouth.
Has matured very much in the last few years & I honestly believe we are getting a player approaching the peak of his game.
I agree about the other players you mentioned who had 1 electric season but bar Forsell perhaps I'd say DJ was the most natural finisher of the lot.

He might be Kevin Phillips, he might be Michael Ricketts. Had lots of chances and at 29, doesn't have time on his side. Not saying he's a bad signing given finances or even a bad player, but statistics and opinion can be skewed to show anything.
Choose your poison I guess.

I've commented a few times on this over the past few days - with the finance available Campbell was perhaps the only option. Doesn't mean he's great or world class or anything, just means he was within our means *if* he signs. Other options out there for not too much more investment were Kenny Miller, Graham, Long, Fryatt, Roberts. All better players IMO. Happy to be proved wrong.

No one, it seems is saying he is a superstar and no one is suggesting he will hit the heights of say Ferdinand in a Rangers shirt. But consider this, if he didn't have that release clause, he would have been sold for considerably more than 1.3M meaning, in the Warnock style, he is the kind of player worthy of a punt.#standuptocancer

Miller's consistently scored goals in the CL and internationally, played for two of the biggest clubs in the world, something DJC has never done, plus scored 11 goals in a relegated side from the PL. Now who does that sound like? You mock Miller for the same reasons you praise Campbell. The sword of hypocrisy dangles heavy over your head!
All about opinions.
