  • So what's everyone expecting this season?

This thread is not to have a pop at our owners neither defend them ...but just wondering what people expect from this season?

The way I see it is there are two ways to go about your business in the Premier League...

We can follow the Portsmouth example and spend big wages on top players such as Crouch, Joe Cole have been mentioned this summer and end up in huge debt as we can't sustain that sort of thing with 18k crowds.

or we can follow the route taken by teams such as Stoke, Wolves where you aim to survive by the skin of you teeth and add a little bit more quality every summer ...being careful not to to a Blackpool, Derby, Burnley and bounce straight back down ...it's a thin line

The later option. It's more appealing to me anyway and more exciting.

. Last game of season, Hulse off bench to tap home an equaliser at the Etihad to keep us up on goal difference. Carlsberg dont be PL survivals.....

I thought our team last season would not have got relegated from the PL and I still think the same for next season. Wigan, Newcastle, Blackburn, Everton, Norwich, Swansea and QPR will be looking over their shoulders all season me thinks, but we will have the extra point Blackpool could not get to survive.

PS: Our run in sucks, so we need to be top of the bottom 1/3rd mid march, to have a chance.

With this current crop I would take a relegation battle but I think we will be down by march unless we improve the defence.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

We need to stack points against the bottom 8 and knick a couple of wins and draws against the likes of Everton, Villa, Spurs, Stoke etc. Also we need to be hard to beat and a annoying team that other clubs dont like playing, for example Stoke

What about QPR? the whole summer has been highly disappointing, we've signed a couple of stop gap players and lack badly in quality. Prices rose by 40% yet I can't see us competing.

I expect us to finish 20th, you get what you pay for in life, we didn't buy anyone so I don't expect us to stay up. So disappointing.

Think we have enough about us to survive by the skin of our teeth, be a mighty close call though.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

I think we need a good start ...in recent years Blackpool, Burnley and Hull have all got off to flyers in the Premier League ...only Hull out of that three survived and that was by the skin of their teeth!
