It takes all sorts of course and there is more than one way to skin a cat and different people treat money (particularly other peoples) in different ways. But I do not believe that is the way to treat an aggresive market (such as the football transfer market is) because ultimately you find yourself backed into a corner everytime due to how the aggressors in the market perceive you.
And if I were the rich boss who had strived all my life to build my fortune, then took on a football club and invested literally millions into it (and please don't say they haven't because the club runs at a massive loss month on month and someone is having to prop up the pay cheques and other outlays) and one of my staff said to me - you can afford it so just do it you tight git - then I'm afraid it would be an Alan Sugar moment at the earliest opportunity#standuptocancer
