He’s a player we’ve been looking at, so now we need to see what happens in the next 10 days or so.”

and towards the end of last season you will find many interviews where Warnock implies that he intends to make Rout's loan permanent..go look.
Simple fact is Warnock was not given funds to get Routledge but the billionaires will spare him £450k and he should count himself lucky.
So where does it say he wanted WR? It doesn't do any more than say he's looking like going to Swans - if it went on to same "which is a shame because I really wanted him - or even something like "my board are not prepared to pay as much as the welsh lot" then fine - but it doesn't. What your reply does say is JP is exactly the sort of player he does like - so if we don't do a deal here then you might have a point, might, depending on the reasons and all that.
Interviews where he implies............go look - sorry I deal in facts not yours or any one elses interpretation of snippets of interviews.

And to conclude, you lose all credibility by saying "simple fact is........."

Only one thing is a fact about your comments and that is that it is all based on conjecture and interpretation, and you reading it how you want to.

That is fine because that's what life is about, opinions, but please do not tell me your opinion is fact when it clearly is not.

            March 2011

Routledge, who has been on a loan spell at Loftus Road from Newcastle United, has made a great impact at the club, scoring two goals in his last eight appearances.

Warnock has been impressed by the winger's form of late and is hoping to secure a permanent deal for the 26-year-old.

"I think they've sorted out a realistic figure," Warnock told the Fulham Chronicle.

"I can't give exact details, but I think we've agreed everything with the club should it go ahead.

"I don't think there's any rush for either of us. We'd like to sign him, whatever happens, but I imagine it depends on where we end up, because I think Wayne would like to play in the Premier League. If things went wrong for us, then he'd probably go back.

"He's got to be enjoying it because of the way he's playing and we're enjoying having him. We'd love to keep him."

Warnock added: "I thought he'd do well for us. That's why I chased him for so long and talked to him so many times. Pestered him, in fact.

"It can sometimes be difficult coming back to a club, but I told him it was a lot different now and I felt the club was geared up to let him play his best.

"I thought we were a solid side and I thought you need players like Wayne to win games and I'm delighted to get him."

            April 2011

But Warnock said: "I really don't see any problems, to be honest.

"It's up to us now to dot the Is and cross the Ts. I think he's set his mind on coming here now, and we want him."

add to that a few Talksport interviews and countless other paper interviews (google is your friend) where he makes it pretty plain that he wanted Routledge permanently in the prem.
but dont let all these quotes cloud your judgement...you believe what you want to believe

The bit you highlighted - he's talking about Puncheon, not Routledge.

Well look at it this way, I guess at least it looks like we are now spending some money, although it looks like we're now getting desperate.

And so all the boo boys are silenced forever, why? because we're signing Jason Puncheon the most reliable yet sort after winger in Europa.... I can hardly wait and get over the buy.....

I bet Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Fulham must be wondering how they missed out. :-D

Laughable IF we are shipping Gorkss off for the sake of saving (at most) £450k but then again so utterly believable, unless Gorkss is on a huge wage but don't imagine thats the case?
