  • Warnock on DJ, Puncheon and another defender

    Interesting read...

“We’re still looking and we have a couple more targets,” added the manager. “I’d say we need another defender, not necessarily a wing-back but certainly a defender to make up the numbers.”

No Neil that's exactly what we should be looking for

Doesn't sound too promising to me....

Surely if Fernandes was taking over in the next week or so Warnock would want better than Puncheon?

Also for people that say that the board have fully backed Warnock-tell me why he hasn't landed Routledge despite him saying in this article he wanted him.

Obviously wants Puncheon. But when it comes to talking to the press about player signings, I actually don't trust a word of what comes out of Warnocks mouth.
Same as Fergie, same as Harry.

Which is a good thing, by the way.

          The mighty Puncheon....

I'm sure Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Fulham must be wondering what they have missed out on..... I can hardly wait to see him take on the Premiership...

The WR situation is very puzzling. I would love to her the full unadulterated version from NW.
Is it really just wages? When NW says that WR appears (sic) to be going to Swans, is it implicit in that that he thinks the door is still open for us?

Sorry and why would we be worrying about the likes of the teams you mentioned? Hardly going to be challenging them for Europe are we.

We need to be concentrating on "worrying" the likes of Swansea, Blackburn, Wigan and Norwich and, IMO, Puncheon (3 PL goals in 11 matches last season) and Campbell (13 PL goals- more than Drogba, Torres and Rooney) are more than capable of worrying their defences.

If your interested in worrying Man Utd and Arsenal then feel free to write a letter (complete with hearts for dots on the i's) to Flavio and/or Bernie and request we put in a bid for Lionel Messi.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Says we have had a bid accepted, with Gorkss moving the other way.

Just spoke to my southampton supporting mate who's a season ticket holder.Said Puncheon would be a good signing for us,in his words-classy.I'm more inclined to trust Neil warnock now then listen to the doom merchants on here to be honest who think we should be in for Ronaldo.Warnock know's what he's doing.

I hear the board would not match his excessive wage demands

Ditto and that's the story of Wayne Routledge

He'll be picking up what his twelve signing on fee no doubt in January or this time next year at another club

Posts like this are ridiculous, for reasons already stated. The PL is split into groups. A few surprise packages happen, but generally, you know your place in the league, and ours is firmly in that bottom 8 section. We need to build a team capable of staying up. Not challenge Arsenal for a top 4 finish.
